    Don Estelle, Whispering Grass -

    https://youtu.be/10dmK7O-KSY
Don Estelle was in Bexleyheath Broadway about 25 years ago, dressed as Lofty, selling/promoting his latest album and chatting to people.

There was hardly anyone at his stall and I’ve always regretted not stopping to talk to him.
I heard a few people had seen him up there in the past

I was, and still am, into heavier rock music but there was loads of stuff in the 70s and 80s that no self respecting metal head would admit to liking. So, 40 years on, here's some of mine.

Southern freeze, (Freeez) great British soul/dance track
Mary's  prayer, (Danny Wilson) great, well crafted pop song.
    Love and pride (King) ditto
Goodbye to love, (The Carpenters) Slick production, full of pathos and two really nice guitar solos
Ain't nobody (Rufus and Chaka khan) always loved this. Tried to get a metal band I knew well to do a version of this but they refused.
Remember me (Blue Boy) The first sampled track I really liked.
And..... ABC.  For some reason I liked Look of Love and ended up buying their album.

Nowadays I listen without prejudice.  Hmmmm what a good title for an album. 😁

Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song (Aserejé)

Whenever I hear this song it takes me back to Perth in 2002 whilst in Australia for the Ashes series.

I was in this boozer and this was played on the video screen,  people were dancing on the bar!  I went out and bought various versions of this on CD the next few days.

Let it go - Disney song from frozen. Got it on my phone from when the girls were obsessed by it, still give it a sneaky listen
I think there should be a bravery award for admitting this.

You don't know the worst of it. A car journey with my wife and girls takes in "girl on fire - Alicia keys", "roar - Katy Perry", "fight song - Rachel Platten" and "the greatest - Sia" I always emerge from the car as a strong and independent woman, who don't need no man.

Luckily, my kids also insist on freefalling by Tom Petty and War Pigs by Black Sabbath. God  knows how that happened.

Dont generally like Manic Street Preachers stuff as I dont particularly like his voice, that said 'If You Tolerate This' is the bollox.
agreed, a lot of their stuff just sounds like your average pop-rock songs made by a group of boring blokes. But it's a great song.
Agree, but the duet with the singer from the Cardigans "your love alone is not enough" is a monster tune

Great call.  I actually had the album on tape at the time too. I think it captured the spirit of the times.

@Stuart the Red No one should feel guilty liking Midnight Oil, even when the convict bastards are singing about "the Union Jack in flames"

I've got to confess to having had the Roxette album on tape. I like the ice cold fjord sound she can create in her voice. My favourite track on there is Cry.

Similar, for similar reasons, Berlin, of "Take my breath away" infamy.
