Not much round up this week @paulie8290 must be very busy, or constantly refreshing the transfer rumours page :)

Judd Trump beat Joe Perry 6-2, firstly to make the quarters, even more important we have a new world no1. Well done Judd, showing he hasn't wasted the talent like was first mentioned by lots (probably me included) , see how long he can stay at the top and who can challenge him.

  • Also a small mention, Monday IPA Premier league Pool started on freesports, advertised at 7pm, but got underway 7:30. 10 top players playing blackball pool channel 422 for sky users, I recommend it if you enjoy pool or snooker. Its on record for me as I have pool league that night (one of a few lol)
  • Right semi finals are as follows:

    Mark Allen v Shaun Murphy

    Judd Trump v Mark Selby

Allen is the defending champion, Trump new world number one this week.

  • The weekend there was the Paul Hunter Classic, only short races and didn't really hear much of it:

Barry Hawkins beat Kyren Wilson 4-3

Seniors World Championship -  Jimmy White beat Darren Morgan 5-3, week before, potential to get into the champions of champions (dependent on repeat winners) Also his first win at the crucible

The International Champion - Trump beat Murphy 10-3 (this was the last scores posted on here)

Next Tournament: 6 Red World Championship 2nd September, defending champ Kyren Wilson

  • So the  6 Reds World Championship started yesterday, not sure if you can view it anywhere I couldn't find it on the sky planner. Possibly betting sites or as things progress... No need to go through the rules as its self explanatory, a normal game of snooker with 6 reds not 15 :)  Winner gets £82k , I don't think its a ranking event

    Top break: 75

Groups A - G, I wont run through everyone as its very difficult to put on here. If you want to see the full list http://http//www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?event=854

I will try to update once we get down to the business end

Jimmy White is in it, Reanne Evans/ NG Yee, also a lot of the crew, K Wilson, Selby, Mags, G Wilson, Ding , Perry, Higgins , Yan Bingtao. Just a selection of names to wet your taste buds :)

  • @paulie8290 have you retired from updates, or just taking a break mate? Hope you're good bud

  • Stephen Maguire wins the Sangsom6 Reds World Championship, beating John Higgins 8-6, he actually won it in 2014 too.... his last title from what I can see, non ranking title but picked up just over £100k so cant be all that bad.

    The Shanghai Masters started yesterday:

Xiao Guodong beat 6 reds champion Stephen Maguire 6-2

    Ding beat Jianbo(a) 6-2

Hawkins prevailed in a decider 6-5 against Yan Bingtao

Zhang Yi beat Ali Carter 6-3 (Good)

Murphy beat Lu Haotian 6-1, also currently has the highest break 135

Jack Lisowski beat the amateur Wu Yize 6-1

    Todays result so far

    Currently Quarterfinal line up :

Robertson vs Ronnie, (Robbo beat Hawkins 6-2)

Murphy vs Allen (Murphy beats Lisowski 6-1)

  • Semi final result:

Murphy beats Allen 10-3, I didn't watch it but looks like most were with breaks around 50. No centuries!

tomorrow should be a cracker Ronnie vs Robbo

  • Anyone been keeping check on the World Open?

mark Williams won it last year but decided to not enter this year so we will have a new champion
I think lisowski might win it

  • Personally still dont agree with Jimmy White being there but it is what it is
  • Anyone??

Hell yes! I tried to step up in your absence, but I am not on your level for updates mate. I have also been keeping an eye on the snooker still, Well done Un-nooh making the final and Trump saved his best for the last, he wasn't particularly playing that well through the whole tourney. Ronnie out early, a decent run by Holt so still a lot of interest. COC this week you have Jimmy White vs Ronnie.
  • Personally still dont agree with Jimmy White being there but it is what it is

I agree mate, its a bit funny he is in it. Also Reanne, its kind of good she is in it but a bit pointless really as she can't really compete with the top boys. If she was good enough to cause an upset maybe, but she doesn't get through round 1 in the ones she has gone into. On another view of that, we have someone who plays pool in Kent for the ladies, but clearly would be good enough for the A team, or B at worst but its restricted as we have a ladies team also. Personally if they are good enough there should be no restrictions.
  • With Jimmy White it was fixed.

The World Seniors winner has never been invited before, and before the event it was still not mentioned, Jimmy White wins it and suddenly the next day, oh and for winning the World Seniors Jimmy has now been invited to the Champion of Champions.

Were was Peter Lines invitation when he won and others
  • edited November 2019
Also agree with your point with Reanne, she was in all 3 Q schools and lost in Round 1 twice and Round 2 once,

In the 6 reds she lost all 3 group matches.

I have always said Snooker is a sport where its obviously not physical, so no reason why both men and women cant compete against each other, but Reanne is supposed to be the best womens player and yet as soon as she comes up against men she falls apart
  • Fantastic clearance from Robertson in the 3rd frame to lead 3-0
  • Champion of Champions
    Group 1
    Result

    Neil Robertson 4-0 Martin Gould
  • Loving listening to the commentators for this match, trying so hard not to be critical of Evans haha, every time she misses or something goes wrong, they just say she is unlucky haha.

She has potted the cueball 5 times in the opening 2 frames and every time they say how unlucky she is, if it was Murphy who did they they would be saying things like the pockets are always there and things like that

I follow a feminist on twitter, who loves her snooker. She did just post about how great it is she is in the COC, I did write a response but I just didn't bother in the end as I know it will just go back and forth even though my main point is she is not up to the standard to play in these events. Although good exposure for the ladies its also negative as people will know someone else deserves a shot who would have a chance, if it was as shootout 1 frame that's different but a proper race to 4 no chance!

1 break over 30(which was 34) so far by Evans tells you all you need to know, again nothing physical in this sport, just not good enough
