Good player in his day still only 32 . Prem experience as well. It’s all about his attitude now. Whether he is here to pick up a short term pay packet or out to impress for a longer contract. Hope it’s the latter. Good luck Joe.5

Some good comments about Ledley in this thread from the Derby fans.

Massive fan of his, not only beard and dancing skills."
Now I really like what's said there .... he's disciplined and brings out the best in others more creative which gives them freedom to play.
Not so sure about the last point though!

Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?
With his pedigree and experience, it seems a strange one.

Ground looks a little water logged. Need some sort of ditch to help it drain. Wouldn’t have happened in Roland’s day...ForeverAddickted said:9 -

He's had loads of injuries hasn't he, imagine we're getting him at his "Come in Number 4" stage, but with the numbers we have til Jan someone with his experience/leadership is going to be useful for the end of games etc. Imagine the Welsh connection has helpedOggy Red said:Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?

Was thinking the same. Though sometimes players are offered deals at clubs but they decline holding out for something better and it doesn't always come.Oggy Red said:Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?

Here's your answer. Basically deals lined up abroad didn't happen for unknown reasons (if you don't open link).Oggy Red said:Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?

Good move this, he never once let Celtic down.2

We have so many injuries, we needed someone and, as they say, beggars can't be choosers. That said, he has bags of experience so let's hope he stays injury free himself.0

Just me that thought this was our new signing?

Great signing this, especially under the circumstances. He’ll be playing to try & get a contract either from us or another team.0

Yes because that's Ledley King not Joe Ledley.SporadicAddick said:Just me that thought this was our new signing?

Blimey, we must be desperate if we're now resorting to considering club journos as a solution to our midfield problems.covered_end_junior said:Cawley confirms he is training with us.46 -

I thought it was Hedley (Blazing Saddles).1

Does seem very strange. You would have thought it all that time there would have been a suitable club willing to give him a gig.Oggy Red said:Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?

I whisper it because he went to Palace and did well, which is despicable, but I've always liked Joe Ledley. At the very least we're getting an experienced player who can help our creaking midfield of schoolchildren gain a bit more control in games. With a bit of luck he'll show what he's about and we'll have a decent option for the rest of the season at least who can rotate with other fit again players. The best way of getting players fit again is easing them back in, so an extra option to cater to that is brilliant for us. We're also inches away from being in a serious relegation battle, money or not, so if he's capable of starting the game against Boro it's a brilliant signing.

Absolutely, very odd. I think Warnock was tempted but seems strange a champ club or even a League 1 side didn’t take a punt.Oggy Red said:Still wondering why Ledley went without a club for nearly a year?
With his pedigree and experience, it seems a strange one.In hindsight he might have been worth a deal in the summer unless he wanted more then we are paying Field or Kayal.0 -

With his injury record he'd fit in perfectly right now.But I'm happier with the man with Ledley as a surname0
