So even if a contract was offered in the last 2 weeks ofcourse it would be rejected, because you know with new owners on the horizon you will get a much better offer if you wait a few weeks1 -

He's a hundred percenter on the pitch every game. Everyone who's met him says what a great guy he is. But he appears to be broadcasting porkies and being disruptive to the club.
Lyle has not been offered a new contract since the start of the season.
Bowyer the other day said he has rejected a contract on improved terms.
The thing is it was offered by RD so probably still not what he will be offered elsewhere hence why he rejected.
Lets see what he is offered when the takeover finally goes through

Bowyer says the contract wass offered 2-3 months ago, seasom started over 4 months ago, so it was after the season started.
Also most of what has been written over the last few days was based on everyone thinking he had rejected a contract within the last few weeks which is because they were crossed wires, so your comment about fan assumption being Shit and False is out of order IMO
Even your initial comment was to something someone said yesterday before Bowyer clarified the comments today, so when the post was made yesterday we still all believed that taylor had recently rejected a contract as thats what we were told0 -

So no Lyle has not been offered anything new so is not lying and Cawley was incorrect in his assumption about what Bow meant.5 -
Game, set and match to Dazzler on this.
Lot of Charlton fans desperate to slag off one of our star players for no reason.
Weird meaning weird.8 -
Did Roland offer to halve his wages?0

But I don't think anyone has questioned Taylor's ability. And I don't think anyone questions his workrate on the pitch. But per AB, Taylor was, it sounds, being somewhat less than truthful on Twitter about his contract situation.
Also, I don't really blame him either rejecting an RD offer or wanting more money. In fact, in a short career mostly spent in the lower leagues, if I were him I'd encourage him to get as much as he can. I would just...probably keep contract negotiations off Twitter.5 -
Lyle Taylor is a great player, terrific work rate & the goals really make a difference to Charlton. Clearly a big character with a big ego & great belief in himself. A good thing for a striker running out in front of thousands of people to play football.
For me, the Twitter stuff is misguided - Lyle Taylor is entitled to express his opinion, but is it really worth all the aggro ? Lyle Taylor does some great charity work. Clearly there are more constructive things to do then wasting time on Twitter. The Day job is football & Lyle Taylor is excellent at that.
Louis Mendez on the astute & balanced discussion on Charlton Live raised that there is a potential for Lyle Taylor to stay. It’s a contract negotiation. Lyle wants a decent contract offer - it’s a short career & he has had previous14 clubs mostly at a lower level. I don’t begrudge that. If that happens, I hope it is somewhere where he will actually play & not do a Ricky Holmes & go somewhere where he sits on the bench.
You never know. Hopefully takeover happens & Lyle can get to hear the ambitions for the club. He gets a competitive & decent contract offer & can consider to stay.
Goal scorers are not that easy to come by. It would be worth the money as his goals can keep Charlton in the Championship. Maybe with the takeover, Charlton can push on for a shot at the Premiership next season. That could be an attractive proposition for him.

Would be a great shame if he left but I wouldn't blame him. Need to sort out the takeover.0

It´s all so confusing.0 -
I think Richard Cawley was clearly misleading with his article, clickbait at its finest.6

I've been trying to ignore this. I don't follow Lyle on Twitter (or anyone else famous for that matter) and this has entirely justified me. FFS, grown men getting all excited and wanting to off load the best striker we have had for years on the basis of stuff he writes on social media? Grow up! Or even better, get off the old mobile once in a while. If you unfollow Taylor on twitter, and just go to games, you'll find it gives a different perspective.
If Taylor genuinely want's out (and I have seen nothing to suggest this) he can be sold in january or leave for free in june. There is obviously no point in having an unhappy player. But we have a takeover in the offing so he may get an offer he can go with.
On the other hand, there are a bunch of simpletons on the web throwing abuse at him for percieved insults, and even worse, a couple of moron's went round his house post match one game. I mean, who the fuck does that? (Stalkers, that's who).
Sadly Lyle would be better getting off social media, but thr problem doesn't stem from him, but a bunch of sad acts who through the new technology of today, seem to think they can send insults through the web. It's a sad state of affairs when people over the age of 10 behave this way.

On what planet is RD making another offer in November when he thinks he is selling the club? On what planet does Rich think that is the case when he is in a constant dialogue with Bowyer.

It’s just shown the absolute worst of people this whole episode.
Let it be a lesson, step away from Twitter once & awhile.0 -
Can we just leave it at this:
“I (Bowyer) spoke to Lyle on Thursday, and Lyle did get offered a contract from Roland, but declined that from Roland.
“There was a bit of confusion regarding the new party (ESI) and Matt (Southall.
“Maybe he thought someone was talking about that, but it’s not important, the most important thing is Lyle gets back playing and scoring goals and whatever his future holds, will hold.
“Lyle is important to us, so if we can keep him then that will only benefit us as a football club.”
That's it. No more guessing who said what and why.

For someone apparently in constant dialogue with LB, it was not clear in his article so much so Bowyer has even come out and said it.1
