Wonder if Maddison is more of a possibility now that LB has signed. It was said that MM came away from his meeting with LB buzzing (if true).

You can’t ignore someone with his goals and assists record.

I still think he was the one asking for the extra £1k

Just the way Peterborough have dropped him saying that Maddison is playing silly buggers after having a reasonable offer from us at the very least

Unless of course the real reason is they've dropped him for the same reasons we dropped Shelvey - i.e. they know he's pretty much gone and dont want to risk an injury messing up their incoming transfer fee... Of course to admit that could result in their own fan backlash
  • I’m hoping that some of our targets watched the game last night and saw the fight and spirit  and thought to themselves that they could fit in and help us improve. Unfortunately, modern footballers are just as likely to watch themselves on u-tube rather than other teams games

    Definitely don’t need 2 strikers.
Definitely do - once Hemed goes in the summer alongside what looks like Taylor. We have 1 senior striker in Bonne.
We can’t have a squad of 35 to cover the players going in the summer. I agree we will need to replace people like Cullen and Taylor in the summer but we don’t need 7 odd strikers now just because a couple might not be here next season.
Fixed it for you, no guarantee that Taylor will leave... Especially now Bowyer is tied down
True. My point being Bowyer will probably know. The time to replace those players is if/when they leave, not now. Certainly don’t need another 2 strikers when we have Taylor, Bonne and Hemed as well as Green, Davison and Aneke.
Green isn't a pure striker, Davison really should be learning his trade at a lower level while Aneke isn't a pure striker either and made of glass

Bonne is currently injured, no guarantee he'll be back for Barnsley and Stoke. Personally I'm not convinced by Hemed anyway, he was a last minute signing from when we were scraping around in the bargain bin, he'll do a job but is a massive step down from Lyle
Had a bet with someone last night that Williams will score for us before Hemed. Saying that i think Hemed looked alot more interested last night and i would like to see Taylor and Hemed start together against Barnsley. Probably lose my bet but not bothered.
Hemed is going to need a supply if he's going to score and he got zero supply last night. The man who was most likely to provide for him, was the man who replaced him.

Against Barnsley, we could well see Taylor and Hemed together. They both work hard, so should be able to stop Barnsley playing out from the back too much. The decision could also be whether to start with Williams and keep Doughty on the bench for a late burst (or visa-versa).

I know its a transfer thread but I would go:

                          Phillips

    Matthrews, Lockyer, Pearce, Purrington

                 Pratley Cullen
    Williams                            Doughty

                  Taylor   Hemed

Early in the season Bows was alternating williams and Oz, with one coming off the bench after 60 mins and vice versa .

I have seen 1,945 quoted which is poor for a london derby.

Posting without reading. I heard Pedro Chirivella could be joining on loan.

No further news on this one @Redhenry ?

BTW in case you're wondering about the exact pronunciation I'm sure you'll find this useful:

Pedro Chirivella Burgos (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾo tʃiɾiˈβeʎa] )
  • I’m still struggling with Chorizo

Jordan Rhodes in advanced talks with Wigan.

Incredibly frustrating, would be a good signing for us
Agree, him and Lyle up top would cause havoc.
Don't you think Taylor and Bonne would be a great partnership if they ever get game time together ? 45 minutes so far.

I do like Bonne, I think he gets a lot of praise for his endeavour and passion, and we warm to it because of his quick rise up the ranks.

But he’s not on the level of Grant.  Could be proven wrong if he gets further game time with Taylor, I think he’s a good option to have but I see him as our third choice forward in an ideal scenario.  As harsh as that may sound with his record.

They're going to buy out his contract with the money they get selling Maddison to Birmingham.

Haha ..... I was just trying to infer that he was on his way to speak to a target north of Peterboro.

And, before anybody says it, not Brighton.
