Fair play to him, can't have been an easy thing to do. Married for 27 years0 -

I watched the Michael Barrymore documentary. This story would have been huge twenty years ago but we've become far more accepting. All the best to Phillip.2 -

That's what you get Phil when you cross Amanda Holden!!
No person should have to hide their sexuality these days surely.

It was a stupid thing to do; but, other than that, I think he's been a terrific TV presenter for nearly four decades.2 -
Always wondered why he hadn't tried it on with Holly.

I’m pleased for him that he’s come to terms with it finally. Must be horrendous to live a lie.0

It would appear to me that he’s most likely bisexual.1

I have a friend who stumbled across her husband's gay porn sites on their ipad - after nearly 25 years of marriage. Fair to say she is still recovering from the shock (three years later) that her whole adult life was based on someone else's lie. Meanwhile he is off and happily shacked up with his boyfriend while she hesitates at the idea of internet dating in her early 50s. Pretty tragic, actually.21

I honestly thought he's come out years ago0

for all we know she has just discovered 27+ years of her life has been a complete lie1 -
As none of us are married to him or otherwise affected by this 'revelation', who gives a toss?

He said he has never had any secrets from his wife Steph, so I take from that she has always known.
It comes as no surprise to me as I've always suspected he was gay.
I said so to my wife, just before they said he was making an announcement, that he'll be announcing he's gay.
Good luck to him.
I'm still waiting for Cliff Richard to "come out", but doubt he ever will.1 -

It might have been fairly recent that he realised he was gay. And it's not as if it would make much difference to how much TV work he'd get, considering how much work the likes of Graham Norton, Rylan, Judge Rinder, Alan Carr, Sue Perkins, Clare Balding etc get, and all on mainstream TV too0 -
You’re joking?!!0
-
who would have guessed .. it'd be easier to say which TV 'personalities' weren't 'gay'1

I've never heard of that before, every gay person I've heard speak on the matter have known from either young childhood or teenage years at the latest.
I'm happy to be corrected.
Anyway, he implied that his wife Steph has always known, as "we've never had any secrets".0 -
