Final thought; McGeady looks like he might be good. Especially at home. A touch of genuine international class.9

Taylor's managed to bag a '6.5' on the Players' Marks thread!! Just, wow!!!25

So happy. I couldn’t follow it as I’m at work. What a brilliant result after last Saturday. In Bows we trust.2

Fully expected the "wasteful" line from Bowyer1 -
Had an inkling but didn't want to jinx it. One for the die-hards tonight, those that travel in blind faith to give their all in support. Really looking forward to hearing more from those there, and safe journeys home.SoundAsa£ said:Come on be honest......after Saturday who saw that coming?4 -
I thought it was my glasses , i cleaned the fuckers and the picture got worse !!!1StevieG said:That red button though. That wasn’t even standard definition more like retro 80’s definition. At one point I lost track of the ball because there wasn’t enough pixels in the TV.9 -

I found the closing 5 minutes and the 5 minutes of extra time quite bearable. Mind you, I have consumed a lot of whisky.20

Fabulous result tonight, we have big balls. All the teams below us are away on Saturday, could be a massive weekend. COYR

My comment on the pre-match thread...
“Unbeaten against the top 5, with 11 points from 7 games. I’m going with a strong 1-0 win to ease everyone’s stress”
Not often I’m right so gonna have my moment today.47 -

Great result and fantastic response to the dross served up at Stoke. The players gave everything for their Manager and the fans who were in great voice all game. Tactics spot on and had Hemed taken his chances we could have been out of sight at HT. Taylor just shaded it as MOM over Naby for me with his non stop closing down, chasing his own flick ons and superb finish for what turned out to be the winner. Naby was also brilliant tonight, good in the air, good tackles and interceptions and a superb assist with the ball he whipped in for Taylor.
As I said on another thread always be prepared to expect the unexpected with this club. After 60+ years of support and not surprisingly for me they delivered against all odds. Now please don't let us down in front of a full house on Saturday! Onwards and upwards, COYRs!18 -
Somewhere in Prague I believe another very happy Lifer is celebrating a famous victory
Did you make it to the pub, @flyingkiwiDK ?2 -
What I've found interesting (and I'll agree with them) is the comments from people saying that Cullen hasnt looked brilliant since his returnScoham said:Two wins in the last three. Six points. Two points per game. Promotion form.
Fulham | Barnsley | Stoke | Nottingham Forest... thats seven points won from 12...9 -
"That man monster, Sarr, Charlton had at the back made Lolley look like a child. If he plays like that every week there is no way Charlton will hold onto him in the summer."Wheresmeticket? said:ForeverAddickted said:Absolute class from Nottingham Forest...

Just got back to my hotel room. What a great battling performance across the whole team.Think forest not on top form and maybe put a lot into Saturday but we pressed them loads and they hated it.We looked much better defensively and played some good stuff ourselves.Great pass from naby for the goal and a great finish from Taylor.Defence was excellent and thought purlington did very well when come on and made some great interceptions down his side.Davis did very well tonight with lots of energy biting into tackles everywhere.Would be tempted to keep that starting 11 Saturday16

Great result - shame that we had to get dicked like Saturday to get that sort of performance, not taking nothing away from the win but it was a heavily weakened forest side so serves them right imo.3

But do you remember when he faked that thigh injury in January because he wanted to leave and the club covered it all up......seth plum said:We got this
Because Dillons best save of the match was from Naby!
Best assist of the match was from Naby.
Anybody who is a critic of Taylor can do one...did you see his running and closing towards the end?10 -
So pleased for my son who made his first solo away trip tonight. Well, not quite solo, he took three mates. Let's hope they get bitten by the bug too.25

But did you really believe it or was it more in hope?JoshAddick said:My comment on the pre-match thread...

Quite correct though. We did waste a few opportunities to stretch the lead. That would have been a sickener if they'd snatched an equaliser near the end.ForeverAddickted said:https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/lee-bowyer-delighted-at-charlton-win-but-felt-his-side-could-have-scored-more-at-forest/

I had a funny feeling we would win 1-0 at Stoke. I was just 3 days ahead of everyone - even LB.2

Oh god yeah; it should have been us who scored the early goal in the second halfDavo55 said:

Good block from Forest for Hemed's first shot who then had a bit of a powderpuff effort with the follow up
Ball in the end just could quite reach Taylor who was waiting in the centre of their penalty area1 -
Pretty sure I saw Lyle wave to the fans at the end.
Sad way to end the night.49 -
Sweet result! It is easy to get negative and after Saturday I was concerned. No need to be. We are capable of beating anyone when we put in a shift like that. Great all around but extra praise for Nabby and Lyle. Really enjoyed that tonight. Going to bed happy now 😀 COYRs!!!4
