Where had Doughty gone to leave that space?

Sarr coming over was what created the gap
    Where was Purrington, then?

Oh, we don't need to play a proper fullback in a fullback position.
We've got wingers and centre backs trying to do that job.

Never understood the need to change from
    GK
    RB LB
    RH CH LH
    OR IR CF IL OL

    45+1 One minute added. #cafc 1 #ltfc 1
  • We are so bad at clearing our lines. Taylor finally gets it away there and Oztumer puts it straight back again. Absolutely piss poor defensively at the moment. Only Sarr and Matthews look remotely like they know what they are doing.

I’m sick and tired of the way we defend.

I should laught at your post, Thai ...... but I'm old enough to know what you mean.
You got a 'like' instead.

  • For Heavens sake, just sit down with him, come to an agreement on what he wants and pay it.

This man is vital to the short-term future of this club.
Sadly money might not be the issue, Taylor can do a lot better than Charlton.
Unfortunately , listening to the commentary and reading comments on here, you are probably right.

    Can only presume he's ill

Very unlike Bowyer to play Doughty at LB

Would be fine sending Davis back to Birmingham based on this first half

42' Ball clearly out of play during a Luton attack, but the referee and linesman somehow miss it between them. Luckily, the move comes to nothing. #cafc 1 #ltfc 1
Same line has given 2 goal kicks for us when ball hadn't gone out. Having a mare.

Doughty generally doing well imo, can't really blame him or anyone except Davis for the goal

He is ill, confirmed by Rich Cawley earlier.

Needed a centre half in Jan window. Fucking shambles at the moment. Shape all wrong LB

Its like reading the same story over and over.  I agree if Lyle is here after this summer he needs his head testing.
  • Worst first half performance of the season. Lyle and Oztuna plus a lot of league 1 tryers.

Least of our problems. Unless you're referring to Lockyer's errant passing? 😉

    Shit game, 2 poor teams
  • We seem to be getting worse with every game that passes. What’s happened to that spirited team that drew 2-2 at West Brom and Fulham?

And when we sling a cross in and Luton can only half clear, the second ball is all to easy for them too deal with. Every time a ball drops 30 yards from our goal it’s a Luton player onto it and we’re forced to throw players around desperately trying to block the shot. Week after week the midfield is playing too deep - on top of the centre backs when we don’t have it and miles from the forwards when we do.

Goal came out of nothing and papers over the cracks of another utterly toothless attacking display. Midfield needs changing at half time. Personnel and intent. Don’t think Bowyer will do anything though.

Glad we picked a team to get at 'em from the off. Apart from a five minute spell when we scored we are awful. Set pieces are a joke. David Davis, why?
  • I think we need to accept we are a weak team for the division, even with players coming back. That being said we have looked decent when we have had possession in the Luton third.

Their goal was born from the constant changing of the formation and personnel in the back line. We just look so unsure how to defend balls into the channels.

Oshilaja and Davis are both having awful games. Latter has an assist I guess

Performance as expected really. Only Oztumer with any creativity. I'd get Davis off, move Oz next to Cullen and bring on McGeady. Bonne for Green soon after.

We need an extra body in midfield.

Fairly even game but Luton more aggressive with the ball & without it are pressing us with FOUR men trying to win it back. Like last week the opposition are playing on the floor whilst we are just lumping it forward. If you havent noticed the difference in how to attack then you arent here.

Only saving grace (if LB has taken any notice) is that Luton will now be playing into the wind & so it should be harder for them when clearing the ball.

Due to lack of wingers imo
the play is not stretched across the pitch due to all of charltons play being down the middle - so we are weak when balls come down the sides!

Constant long ball with no midfield to mop up the second ball is the constant problem, and without players out wide there is a lack of cover down said sides!

Fucking lucky to have that. It was actually a pretty shit pass that somehow Taylor conjured into a strike on goal.

One of him or Deji needs to come off. Morgan would be the one to bring on and try and add some actual ability to the midfield rather than a just broad shoulders and running, but inexplicably he’s not on the bench.
