Whoever threw a bottle at him after the first goal is a c*nt of the highest order.3

Well done Karlan.4

Thought the chanting against him today was embarrassing. And hypocritical , how many of those calling him a rapist and saying he should be in jail were saying the same things when he was scoring for us?1

Embarrassing the amount of people defending him2

Singing about an ex player has always bin part of football.
How many on the pre match thread said, Grant will score and that will see us lose. Well not exactly right but close.
In footballing terms only, you can't deny he was really dangerous and looked a class above our defence and for that matter our attack.
Fella in the pub said he had been consistantly class and they expected to lose him, as he will take the golden premiership dollar at the end of the season, nothing new or surprising there then. It is what it is.0 -
What did Grant do wrong? Move to a premier league club for more money, at a time we had the worst owner in the world and his contract was due up. The audacity! And then when he gets completely unjustified abuse and fronts it up he’s a c*nt?! Do me a favour15

Grant has been disrespected by fans why shouldn't he give the same back
In my opinion, anyone who leaves in January (unless forced out) is a cunt.
Like you wouldn't move company if offered over double your money and the chance to work in the top tier of your organization
I'm not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing,I don't begrudge non Charlton players doing it and I enjoy when players join us in January. It's the hypocrisy of football. End of the day, I'm a Charlton fan and if you leave Charlton for your own gain and it negatively affects us, my loyalty dictates my reaction to you.0 -

But if you boo and then he score then expect to get it back like Grant did and never cross the line with Libellous comments(he was cleared remember so any songs or comments regarding the alleged incident can be considered libellous)1 -

When he was our player he was fantastic and everyone loved him, now he has scored against us all I can see on twitter are Charlton fans calling him a rapist.
I dont care if he left us and scored, I dont even care that he celebrated considering how many boos he got at The Valley.
But to start mentioning his personal life is just embarrassing, what when he was a Charlton player he was innocent but now he has lef he is guilty
Its pathetic0 -

He posts 4 goals, a double and job done. This is the club that helped him progress since he was 12 and surely has a lot of friends still at the club. I don't have any respect for the guy. Also Albie Morgan should not liking that comment IMO.1

"I can sing songs about you raping someone even though you didn't, but don't you dare put your finger to your lips or I'll get really mad!!!!!"17

If he’s been getting pelters, then don’t be surprised if he gives it back in spades, forget about Karlan and move on, we’ve got our own problems to sort out.11

What sort of 'grown' man goes into meltdown when someone he's been abusing responds with a 'shush'?11

The stupid thing is it obviously peps most players up. Frank Lampard used to get absolute dog's abuse off West Ham fans and he would always use it as motivation to play better against them. He scored his 200th goal against them, three penalties against them, he said himself that all he wanted to do in those matches was show the fans who were abusing him up. We laugh after games about how Barnsley fans and Luton fans booing Taylor just makes him play better and how stupid they are for getting at him. And then our fans target their best goalscoring threat for daring to leave the club and he scores two against us, with his celebrations showing just how much he wanted to score to shove it down the people abusing him's throats. Forget the debate about whether or not he was wrong to leave or how he left, don't be thick; abusing a player like that almost always backfires when it motivates him to play better. You'd think people would at least have figured that out by now.

A good friend of mine knows someone quite senior at Huddersfield and they can’t stand Grant. Bloke an absolute piece on and off the pitch.3

But presumably they'll tolerate him all the time his goals keep them away from League One.
Be interesting to see if they get offers from Premier League clubs or other top league clubs in Europe for Grant. Could be a decent sell-on slice.2 -
The thing I don't get is that we are hearing now from people on here what a nasty bit of work he is off the pitch. And yet we heard nothing to that effect when he played in our colours. It's almost as if he became a demon as soon as he left us.
Either that or he has always been like that and those individuals are being somewhat hypocritical. I suppose that's fans for you!11 -

I am not in the know in any way at all but heard that Karlan got a bit 'Bertie Big Bollocks' as he progressed towards the first team at a young age. He was either still 16 or just 17 when he first played. I've read an article where Karlan admitted that he went on loan to Cambridge with completely the wrong attitude and had a lot of thinking and changing to do.
There will inevitably be speculation about the off-field stuff of a year or two back which will be uncomplimentary so it is easy to paint him in a bad light if you are of that mindset.
My view is that he is a young man who has made mistakes, learned from them and gone on to make the best of the talent he has. Sadly, through no fault of his, that was not to be with us.
