Bored? Any tips to make social isolation more bearable?

In our family we have my wife, my son, the dog and me in the house. It is harder on my son as he would be at Uni normally and is a party animal. He understands this is something that has to be done but it is hard. We have agreed to play a board game a day and we will try to watch a film together too. What are you doing that is helping you?
My tip for people who like games and are creative
To keep me from getting bored, I researched the oldest game recorded. This game is called Senet and is over3,000 years old. A set was found in Tutankhamun's tomb. It is thought to be where backgammon originated. I decided to make the game. There are different ways to do it. I designed a board using illustrator and had some tokens. But I could have used coins. You need 14 coins or tokens. 4 of them are used for the ancient version of a dice. They used to use sticks, but basically you need two distinct sides. You thorow these and that determines your moves. Then you need two sets of markers/counters for each player (2ps and 10ps would work or you could make some).
It is quite a good game to play and I like the thought that it was played thousands of years ago. I played my son yesterday and he beat me, but you could see the tactics that are within it that need to be learned. It is a very simple game to learn the basics though. Anyway if anybody wants to give it a go, here is the board I designed which I printed and set on cardboard.

I've resolved to improve my guitar playing. I want to move on from being a basic strummer to actually having an understanding of the instrument. I can recommend Justin Sandercoe if anyone else wants to do this.
Think I'll be getting back into tabletop photography as the opportunities for my usual wildlife stuff are going to be restricted. If there's enough interest here we could have a weekly indoor photography competition; different theme and a virtual prize each week. What do you reckon?
Right now I'm enjoying watching Mrs Stig give our eldest a haircut and turning him into David Sowerbutts.1 -
My partner has bothered me about guinea pigs for years so last week we finally got two. It's nice breaking up work, Netflix or whatever and visiting Larry and Leon (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
They're very timid so it's the ideal time to build their confidence and hopefully make them people-friendly. I wasn't told they crap 100+ times a day though.3 -

Having 3 teenagers around makes it a bit easier as they tend to stay in bed until midday so I've been doing that too.
Watching tv. Sky golf channel yesterday had the whole final round on the 2018 Open from Carnoustie. Even though I knew who won it (Molinari) I was watching it as it was live. About 6 hours worth & even paused it during tea.0 -

Is it okay to say that so far I'm thoroughly enjoying it? There's just no pressure to do anything. None of us are allowed out for another week and it's just very relaxed.2
