Upbeats Walk 2020 - Sat 25th April

So sadly the annual Upbeats Walk had to get shelved due to the lockdown.
However, a seperate walk has been organised to try and raise funds and everyone has a chance to participate,
The idea is for people to walk a mile for the Upbeats on April 25th at some point between 11am and 2pm ( this can be done in your garden / house or part of your once a day exercise in an outside walk ( remaining in the government guidelines )
All you have to do is commit to doing it, donate at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/upbeatswalk2020 and maybe nominate friends or family to similarly walk a mile on the Saturday
Because of lockdown, there is naturally less activity going on which means less funding is required to keep the programme going. The target this year is £10,000.
They'll be lots of content released on this over the next week and it would be great if Lifers could help spread the word.
Hopefully they'll be loads of people walking a mile for the Upbeats next Saturday

Hi boss. Hope you are keeping safe. Something wrong with the just giving link in the OP. Takes you to a page suggesting that just giving “may be up for sale”?0

Thanks for sharing details about this. Here's an interview @Ollywozere has done with our Head of Early Help & Prevention Carl Krauhaus (published this morning) about the importance of meeting the fundraising target, even though it's lower this year as mentioned in the OP: https://cact.org.uk/news/we-all-know-that-the-upbeats-run-on-fundraising-carl-krauhaus-encourages-fans-to-walk-1-mile-for-the-upbeats-on-25-april

Count me in, had originally targeted the walk day as the day to try for 100,000 steps in a day. Last year I done over 60,000 on the walk day. However I had to self isolate a few weeks back and then being made redundant, has knocked the stuffing out of me,.0
