Watching Into the Night on Netflix. First couple of episodes are pretty good.Just finished Scorpion. Totally cheesy, but lots of fun. Maybe just what we need at the moment 👍0

Gangs of London ****spolier alert***
meh, watchable but not a classic, poor acting, very OTT in parts, not just the fight scenes, but also the near zero response from the police at any elongated incident *the pub at the funeral, the traveller camp, the fake flower warehouse all incidents that seemed to go on forever but received no police response either during or after, I see they left it open for a 2nd series, will probably watch but it won’t be on my waiting list.

That scene in the gypo camp was like a scene from platoon.1 -
The first 2 episodes of gangs of London had me hooked in, possibly the third as well but it got silly quickly. The lead character was colossally unlikeable, no redeeming features (Joe Cole, not the undercover copper). The PKK lady was excellent but generally it quickly became something that Sky Atlantic specialise in, expensive style over substance.
I stuck with it and wont be watching the second series. It looked the business and the fighting scenes were excellent but ultimately stuff like this needs a storyline and this just didnt have one2 -
Normal People will probably be liked by all the womenfolk on here...1

Lovely little mention of Lee Bowyer in Killing Eve this week.0

We finished normal people yesterday. Heavy watch at times and the two actors playing the leads were excellent
The decision making of the pair of these hugely emotionally mature and aware young people was astonishingly bad throughout and I accept that was needed to move the story I just struggled with some of the unpleasant situations they found themselves in of their own making. The actor who played Connors mum was brilliant and understated and the female lead must have been in more naked scenes in one series than most actresses are in a career! Like a young Ann Hathaway, she was good
I'm going back to gameface tonight for something a lot more fun though2 -

During Ep 3. The gun blowing peoples heads clean off started making me chuckle and then the following scene where they dragged the injured fella into the house and onto the dining table whilst everyone was tucking into roast beef and spuds was the final straw.
The lead actor was also about as scary Dale Winton in a tu tu!2 -

The heads being shot clean off was pretty accurate given how close range he was using that shotgun at. Not that I've ever seen a human head be shot with one of them at that close a range but, ya know, that's a lot of shot comes out of them0 -

Think I've seen a few people mention it, but I bloomin loved Bosch on Amazon... Now getting into Ozark on Netflix...halfway through first series...enjoying it and will stick with it... Loved Unorthodox on Netflix too...1

Also just started and binged Normal peoople yesterday, i think its good. Defo one for the females, has touch of fifty shades? not quite, even the lead looks like dakota ( i had to google to check it wasn't her). Quite easy to get into a simple love story1

Started watching the Netflix documentary series about the Vietnam War, 10 x 1.5 hour episodes, it’s very heavy going (in a graphic and too much to take in at once way) so limiting myself to one a day, worth the watch2

So, Marseille on Netflix. I dissed it based on series 1 but @bolloxbolder pointed out there is S2, and he had enjoyed it. I must say I enjoy S2 much more, and it might be worth a look for others because in S2, the future of the football club, and the stadium, becomes integral to the plotline (which is about the politics in that febrile city). The stadium is owned by the city, and costs the city shed loads of money; so some politicians obviously want to sell it off; but the programme clearly shows that Olympique is a huge community symbol (and so is the stadium). That should have some resonance with us.
The storyline is still a bit "excitable", you know, pushing it a bit, but its grown on me. And oh my, what a stadium that is.1 -
We’re 4 episodes into Devs. It’s a bit weird but we’re sticking with it for now.2

Into the night. Belgian subtitled sci/fi apocalyptic thriller. Watched two episodes now. Fast moving and I’ll carry on for now anyways.1
