RIP a great rock and roller!

Saw him on a triple bill with Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. As a guitarist, I went to see Chuck but Little Richard blew me away - he lit the place up! What a showman. No Little Richard, no Beatles. I would also say, no Little Richard, no Prince and possibly no James Brown. A true musical innovator.

Saw him play live at the London Rock 'n' Roll Show at Wembley Stadium, 5th August 1972.

Unbelievable energy and showmanship, absolutely tore the place up, along with Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and Bo Diddley.

What a day and night that was!

    RIP Little Richard Penniman.
That must have been some gig to be at, seen it on YouTube many times

    Sure was DA9.

The pitch was covered in matting, we arrived early and were sitting roughly in the penalty area facing the stage!

48 frigging years ago, where's that gone?

When I first heard him on TV it must have been around 1958/60, Tutti Fruitty blasting out.
As others have said, it was like a jolt of electricity going through me.

Changed my musical direction for ever.

            RIP

Every time I hear Tutti Frutti it gets me all over again, just a complete blast of unbridled rock’n’roll. The man just went for it.
    RIP Little Richard.
