I don't like him but if I'm really honest, I think he might be mentally unwell.
Remember that strange overly dramatic tweet he did when he was moaning a lot about Charlton fans being rather close to where he lived?
I think he was in an emotional state, I also think it was a partial lie. Which is a part of the problem.
On the flip side and most of the time, on the field of play, he would give it 100%.
I think he has genuine issues which may or may not be his fault.
He had a good work ethic but he might also be a damaging complicated overly outspoken character. He knows it doesn't help.
He knows life isn't a TV drama.
The bloke needs psychological help.
On the surface, it is hard to spot his downside, but I think internally, he is a mess.
His personal life is not our business and it's not our problem.
I really just want him to f*ck off as soon as possible.
Please never mention Charlton ever again.
The players that do play for us and work really hard for Charlton and under the guidance of bowyer, deserve praise and credit.
We need to give them a lift.
Even if it will just be on something like Twitter, as they won't be able to hear us.
Lyle just needs to sod off and take his unhealthy drama with him.
It's not good for the club. It's now just very damaging and it wasn't really worth having him on board. Which sounds really stupid as he scored loads of goals and very much helped us get promoted out of league one.0 -

That's fine Robbie but in that case clubs should also be able to dishonour contracts...we're not gonna pay you for the rest of the season as we want to put the wages to a better player. We've thought long and hard at it and sat staring at the telly til 5am but it's the best for the club. Soz.

Would have been good to have had a Chris Sutton type in our dressing room!

I take it you disagree with my post, or you are being pedantic.

Chris Sutton speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, said:
“The one thing I can’t understand is that he has a contract. He is not fulfilling his contract.
“Are Charlton still paying him? They shouldn’t be paying him. And I have to say that if I was in his dressing room I’d pin him up against a wall.
“He’s letting his club down. He’s talking about his future, and I get that from a personal point of view.
“But what about his teammates? What if they get relegated? What happens to their contracts? It is so selfish. He’s totally let his teammates down.”
Hero to Zero, Lyle.
Even most of your fellow professionals think so.

It's not great when Robbie Savage is sticking up for you - albeit in a contrived 'radio jock' debate.
'Brand Lyle' has been damaged. It does make you feel a little cynical about how many of his attention-grabbing activities were driven by that. The reputational fallout won't worry him too much now but it may impact upon him couple of years down the line if (despite his protestations that he doesn't like football) he wants to do something which earns him a few bob in the game.1 -

And here's a contrary view, which doesn't particularly surprise me coming from this particular individual.

Lyle Taylor leaves Charlton teammates raging as they face 50% pay cut
"A Charlton source has told Football Insider that the club’s top goalscorer, 30, has left the first-team squad “livid” as they all have relegation clauses in their contracts.
This means their pay will drop by 50 per cent if they go down from the Championship to League One."

Views from Garry Monk talking about players contracts coming to an end and the Lyle Taylor issue...
It feels like Bowyer has potentially gone about things the right way and has sat with with his players well before the restart
If others havent that could create a very large mess if there are others with the same view as Lyle0 -

Views from Garry Monk talking about players contracts coming to an end and the Lyle Taylor issue...Regarding the Taylor issue, Monk says that such a move has the ability to backfire on players. He says that when assessing potential signings, he looks at more than just footballing talents.
"It's a difficult situation," he added. "As a manager, you know why they're doing it (refusing to play).
"But in terms of your thinking about that player, a lot of it comes down to character.
"Maybe that would put a doubt in your mind when going after that player. In recruitment the main side of it is what he can bring to your team.
"But there's a big thing on the character side and you're looking for traits in players.

It does seem to me that Lyle already has his new contract lined up.
He's just waiting until 1st July to sign it.

Not often I agree with the Wendies and Simon Jordan! I hope it backfires on Taylor0
