  • Lyle is a bit of a naive idiot if he thinks Charlton fans will be okay with what he's done. Our main concern is the club and he's made it abundantly clear we don't matter.

    Why does he expect sympathy?

Plenty of other clubs fans giving him a bit of stick on that twitter post. His reputation has taken a bit of a knock from this, but I’m sure he’ll make himself the victim soon enough. Really has gone from hero to zero quickly. Just seeing his face pisses me off.
That is because Lyle thinks he is smart
when in fact he is not that smart or clever at all 😂
He's intelligent as footballers go, the bar however isn't always set that high. Bradley Pritchard would smoke him at University Challenge.
And Bradley Pritchard is a top top bloke, would never pull what Taylor is doing
  • The tweet from Steve “Rambo” Thompson has nailed it for me this week with regards to Charlton.

Absolutely can't stand it when people play the victim card.

It makes things a lot worse for the actual victims!

Racial abuse and sexual abuse is awful. We all know it. It ruins people's lives and causes so much pain.

Fake victims....the liars - make it a lot worse for the actual victims.

    ....

Taylor is probably very unhappy at the moment but we really don't need to hear about it. He's in the spotlight...he hates it...so he makes himself even more in the spotlight.

All he has to do is Google Scott Parker. We all loved him when he played for us and he was very important. It all went to his head...so he f*cked off.

Then we hated him because he showed us such little respect in the way he left and demanded to go to Chelsea...when the club was chasing for 4th!!!. It's just the way the game works.

Charlton fans haven't done anything wrong.

If you're not a fan of football...then maybe the sport really isn't for you?

    The drama needs to stop.

So, Taylor is having sleepless nights, watching a blank TV screen.  Well, that's far more edifying than watching the programmes.

Until 5 a.m.?  Taylor is obviously going through a crisis of conscience.

His refusal to play is getting loads of coverage in the media – of course it casts him in a very poor light.

If he pulls that stunt at Galatasaray, the Turkish fans will murder him.  And in Glasgow, for that matter.

Chris Dickson is correct. Its definitely about race as you can tell by all the grief we are giving David Davis for refusing to play too.

Bollox to him, solly and davies - i'm under no illusion that footballers do anything other than what's good for their career and paycheck and haven't since i was about 11 years old so not surprised at all. They could have made a different decision and they could have been welcomed back to the club in years to come - they haven't and they won't be so that's that. Out of all of them i think its Solly who has let himself down the most. For the extra year or so he may play at some shit level he's thrown away years and years of good will.
Johnny Williams and Sir Chris P are not to be tarnished with the above. Solly has really let himself down there

innocent til proven guilty i guess

I have assumed with Solly that the club have told him they won't be giving him a new contract. I can understand a reaction to that. Taylor can say he has been messed about by Duchatelet and Southall in relation to his contract, but he has been offered a contract he said he would have signed in August and when the ownership is resolved he would clearly have been offered a better one. Solly may think the club has not been fair with him, given his loyalty in the past. One is not comparable with the other. And nor is Davies who was never our player.

Ah the race card, he really is turning into that scumbag southall and his mrs.
  • Seen on lyles insta stories that he shared a video of Chris Dickson implying that the media are using race to portray the lyle story negatively, whilst ignoring that Solly isn't playing. Annoying that they are using the race card when the reason it is portrayed this was is because Lyle is/was our best player whilst Solly is now a bench warmer at best

Solly has been with the club for a long time. His loyalty is not even remotely questionable.

    Yes it is.

It is disloyal to not see out your contract, especially in a relegation battle.

It's absurd how much Solly is being protected, despite the fact he's only been Mr Charlton as he wouldn't likely pass a medical elsewhere.

one can't get in the squad do to historic injuries, the other is the best player in the squad worrying about potentially getting injured ... bit of a difference.

Neither deserve any sympathy or empathy.

They're not willing to pull on the shirt at a vital time.

Neither have from me, but im finding myself more vocal towards the player who can help save our club from relegation. The only way solly can save our season is by putting sleeping tablets in the oppos drinks.

Thing is he could have seen the season out, played a blinder, kept us up,left a hero, and got an even better deal.
  • we've been to  quite a few player of the season dinners over recent years, but I don't feel inclined to go again. You finish the evening thinking what a fine bunch of people the players are, and six months later  2 or 3 of them shaft the fans.

Footballers are not playing for the fans, they are playing for themselves, it's their job.

This does seem to be the case in modern football and often i ask myself whats the point of getting so attached to football when the players are hired guns.

I can tell you that for every Lyle Taylor there is a Chrissy Powell. We shouldn't forget that. The legends earn their place in our history and hearts.

I think the whole point is that there about 200 Charlton players for every Chrissy Powell

Pitiful behaviour by Taylor. He should hang his head in shame. Any clubs looking to sign him ought to be aware of his lack of moral fibre.

        Absolutely spot on, Dickie 👍
In fact  I would not be at all surprised if
Several clubs may now be a little put off the idea
Of a potential gob shite trouble maker made of
        Glass joining their Club.

       Absolutely 100% Correct
A total no brainer to a man of so called reasonable
       Intelligence.👍

  • If he takes the penalties at his new club, I hope he takes the slow walk up and misses!! Knob!
