I was actually not finished writing that, not sure what happened (probably my useless brain) it was going to say something along the lines of "depending on you optimism level."Dazzler21 said:

Someone has listed available right backs for the 72 website we could look at :
Eric Lichaj ,James Bree (Villa) , Danny Simpson ,Kane Wilson and Josh Emmanuel
Another possibility could be Jamie Sterry from Newcastle .

It depends if you keep Matthews or not doesn't it? Replacing Solly or getting a first choice right back are probably 2 completely different scenarios.Richard J said:Someone has listed available right backs for the 72 website we could look at :

Apart from Lichaj and Simpson I think the others would fit the Matthews staying scenario .Cafc43v3r said:

Che Dunkley is apaprently out of contract in the summer from Wigan. He might fit in at Centre Back amd wouldn't cost anything. We could do with a big strong bastard and he fits the bill
A lad in Portugal that might be worth a sniff is a left winger called Varzim. Formerly at Crystal Palace but now plying his trade over there. 8 goals in 23 games and looks as though he's developing quite nicely1 -
Chucks said at Bromley Addicks that Dunkley is the toughest opponent he has come up against.Swisdom said:Che Dunkley is apaprently out of contract in the summer from Wigan. He might fit in at Centre Back amd wouldn't cost anything. We could do with a big strong bastard and he fits the bill

Rather than talking about individual players as I just don’t know enough about other teams, this is what I would like to see added to the team, assuming we stay up and don’t lose any of the attributes we currently have (for example replacing Cullen’s tackling and tidy ball use in midfield):
Height and strength in central defence and up front - front man needs to be a bit of an horrible bastard.Pace throughout the team. Particularly in attack.Quality delivery from wide areas.Someone who can go past players with the ball, particularly driving forwards from midfield.Goals from midfield.
A 15+ a season striker.Whether we stand a chance of getting all that is highly debatable with out unknown budget but I think it’s what we need as much of it as possible if we want to avoid a long hard season fighting relegation.0 -

We would sign him, only give him a short contract and he'd leave in the summer on a free, ripping our heart strings asunder yet again... Oh the pain!ForeverAddickted said:BLIMEY!! - WTF is this kid smoking5 -

I know it’s fun to speculate but quite frankly I’m going to worry about where we end up after the next few games before I worry about the next load of dross forced upon us.3

I'd get a massive boner if we signed Toney.
Instead I'll get a micro penis when we get McGeady back on loan for next season.11 -

We would probably pay that, loan him back and pick his wages up.blackpool72 said:1 -

Don't even want him. He can't even hold 3 fingers up like a normal person.ForeverAddickted said:BLIMEY!! - WTF is this kid smoking2 -

Toney will be sold. He would be great for us, but we have a transfer embargo and no money!1
-
Toney is being looked at by Rangers...
If they sign Taylor and Toney they'd have a lethal front 3.

Is that a British normal person or a German normal person (cf Inglorious Basterds).Bolderhumphreyreid said:

Pretty sure you can rule out Danny Simpson.Richard J said:Someone has listed available right backs for the 72 website we could look at :

His wages would be way above what we pay.1 -
Are these threads all total bullshit - considering we are under a transfer embargo?
I have assumed nobody will be coming in0 -
Can we sign players on a free transfer or we're not able to sign anyone at all?DamoNorthStand said:Are these threads all total bullshit - considering we are under a transfer embargo?

I know we can do loans, as we signed Green, McGeady, Davis and Smith in January.0
