  • We generally seem to do better when it's not expected. Hence our results against the top sides this season, with only Brentford beating us.

People need to look past their current form and realise it's just Wigan. A very beatable side. Pressure will also be on them too, given they know a defeat leaves them in the bottom 3 with their fate not in their own hands on the last day.

If you'd said to us during lockdown that a win v Wigan will see us safe, we'd have all taken that. Essentially today is a relegation play off.

I think people are going a bit over the top on how good Wigan are, these freak results happen and when they do, they aren't often followed up with another hammering. We only lost by 1 to a much better Brentford team with the best player in the league.

I'm not optimistic about us, but its a Northern team coming down on a short week and the 12 30 kick off time should be in our favour.

We have to beat one team at home basically, and it's not Pep's Barcelona.

Will be a hard game, and we obviously need to be performing better than we have been doing but we've had a lead in basically every game since the restart, other than against those Bermondsey pricks. Just need to hope Bowyer keeps us going forward if we do again

We need to be positive and play without strikers.

Admittedly they are mid table(before the points deduction), but their form since the return of football is top of the table stuff.

Pratley will miss the last 2 games .. he's a big loss and it means that Field must start today and @ Leeds .. Today is a MUST win as we can't depend on Leeds starting their holidays before our arrival .. Wigan are on fire and are taking absolutely no prisoners with their tackling and defending .. the sword of Damocles 12 point deduction has had a huge motivating effect throughout the club .. their big central defender scored both in their 2-0 win in Wigan and they scored 8 at Hull .. today will call for a mammoth effort as they will try to intimidate and bully us .. I'll say this is our most important game in what has been a very important restart period .. we are well capable of winning this .. please NO Oshilaja at left back .. let's have round pegs in round holes etc. .. COME ON YOU ADDICKSSAAAAAA !!

Draw today, win at Leeds. Hull and Luton to draw.

Not sure why, but I'm feeling slightly optimistic about this one. Just got a feeling Bows and Jacko are gonna pull of a win for us today and keep us safe.

I think the focus has to be 100% on today and deal with Leeds if and when it comes to it. As a Charlton fan, I know that even if we get the outcome we want, it will run us through the mill getting it. None of this comfortable win nonsense! That is for other clubs.

Win today, and assuming Wigan get their deduction, we are safe. I can't see Luton not winning today, but in a way the battle then will be between them and Wigan

The big difference between this and our last 2 matches is that Wigan will be desperate for the win as well, so there will be more space when we attack. Are we good enough to exploit that space?

Last night proved that anything can happen in this game. I thought Huddersfield would be below us come the end of the season with their last two games and ours in mind, particularly how badly they have been playing and they go and win 2-1 and turn the form book on its head.

Bows needs to play positive and have faith that this will be the day that we nick a goal or two, one set piece, one scrappy open play tap in. If they give it their absolute all and it is not quite good enough, we know who to blame (not management), if we give it our all for 70 minutes being 1-0 and draw or lose having flooded the team with defenders, my frustrations and disappointment will again lie with management.

Lee Bowyer, Johnnie Jackson, Charlton squad show us and the World what you are made of when your backs are to the wall! Good luck you Reds!!!!!

I've never been a wibbler as far as Charlton is concerned, but I fear we are well and truly humped.

Absolutely love this. Sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it.

Not done a preview for this, been extremely busy. But all I can say is, Bowyer has created one hell of a team spirit, we have all got behind him and the boys. For one more time, let’s make sure they can feel the support somehow. When our backs are against the wall, Bowyer pulls it out the bag.

    Come on you reds.

    Weird team.
3-5-2 with Forster-Caskey behind the Strikers perhaps

I quite like that team, its unexpected... Has Bowyer spotted something to exploit in the way that Wigan play

Expect Williams, McGeady, Aneke all to come on with a big chunk of the game to go. Surprised Aneke isn’t starting, but Williams and McGeady not starting isn’t a surprise to me.

Big impact from those in the second half.

Most important game of the season and we're starting Josh Davison up front. In case time has given people rose tinted glasses, he works very hard but hasn't started since January and is very, very raw

Tons of people on here and social media have questioned why Davison hasnt been given an opportunity - Time for them to be proven right or admit that they were wrong to call on Bowyer to make that decision

    Blimy, well wasn't expecting that.

It's put up or shut time.

I can't watch this, I can't bring myself to put myself through 90 of nerves.

See you on the post match thread.

This is a game that could define what division we're in I don't care about punters being proven right or not Aneke has looked a force.

Yet Bonne still starts. Chuks has been one of our best performers since lockdown and he's on the bench.

Granted he may not add much during the game, but he is the only one who has really scored for us. Bonne has to start.
