Thank you also for taking to time to listen to my tracks. Trance was my first big inspiration and my gateway to electronic music. You've probably not heard of him, but the remix is for Adrian Oblanca. He has 11k followers Instagram, 7.5k Facebook... So he's quite established. Has releases on some big techno labels. 

You're right I've not heard of him but that doesn’t mean much. What track of his? I'll take a listen to the original and yours when it's available.

i started off back in the early days of rave with hardcore & have gone through most genres of dance & hip hop from gabba to d&b ,house , trance etc but really got into turntablism about 10 years ago & now play all of it together with a background of breakbeat & old skool hip hop after getting fed up of the pigeon holing of styles & genres.

whilst it’s not house I would recommend having a look at (look & listen) to DJ Yoda , Jaguar skills , and even jazzy Jeff (yep that one!) they are real craftsman and show just what you can do with sound & all the equipment available, the old DMC world mixing championship & the more recent red bull freestyle championships on YouTube are essential viewing to see how a DJ should be working , too many DJs (also a great act!) just got in a rut of seamlessly blending one track into the other & became very stale , I’d use as prime examples radio ones old dance line up of Pete tong , judge jules( caught playing pre recorded usb set at live gig)  ,Danny Rampling (legend at one point I know) etc but I think you should be able to hear the mixing and a well executed blatant bashing of the fader beats a mellow blend where you weren’t even aware the track had changed every time .

Scratching is a lost art in house & can add an extra level ,with modern technology you can live sample & manipulate sounds like never before & you can live remix tracks and bring people’s favourites to them in ways they’ve never heard & put a smile on there face with your new take & they will be amazed to know you were doing it with the original.

i could go on & on about it as it’s my life passion (alongside the obvious cafc) & if you wana know anything music or equipment give me a shout .

Like anything you do I’d say do it properly and start with the basics & really learn the craft ,read “last night a DJ saved my life “ as a starting point ,as there’s so much more to it than people think , be original & try different things together outside your comfort zone , there are no two tracks that can’t be mixed together & sound good.

have fun with it & if it bites ya it will consume your life!, I’ll have a listen on sound cloud when the mrs has gone to bed.

Coincidently i bought my 1st decks in 91, but was only 15 at the time and they were a cheap version of Technics that i bought in New Cross. Took me a while to save up for some 1210s but i did it. Mainly mixed hardcore and drum n bass, a little bit of jungle,happy hardcore and trance but fell out of it when the garage scene started getting violent.
Played on a few pirate stations back in the day and was pretty good at setting up equipment by the time i was 18 ,was always having to rush out at night getting calls that the DTI were on to us lol but i always found a new roof to set up.
