Nottingham press are saying that Forest and Derby are battling it out for Ivan Toney for £5 million, maybe Taylor has to wait in turn for the attractive options to be signed first.
In the video with the Peterborough chairman he was talking about Toney going for £10m+, shows how prices have been hit by this virus situation.

He also wanted Toney loaned back to Peterborough for the remainder of the season if he'd gone in January, so in fairness I think he was trying to make a valuation that would put almost anyone off

If he didn’t find a club and Bowyer wanted him back, would you take him?

Would score 20 plus in League 1 to get us back to the Championship.

    (......runs for cover).
As good a player as he his, he is too far up his own arse and has treated the club like dirt.
The club/Dushitelet let him down on a transfer.  He's bitter because of this.
So because of his hurt feelings he refused to play thus risking us to relegation and thereby screwing over his teammates, Bow and his staff, the club employees and the supporters. What a guy.
    Yes, he probably did.
Why should he care about upsetting fans and ex team mates?  It is only a job.

If it’s only a job, then you wouldn’t go around upsetting clients and colleagues, because eventually your reputation would stop you getting any decent new job.
Fair comment, but I think COVID has come at a bad time for Taylor.

If only there was a vaccine...

    Come on world football.

It's not everyday you get the chance to sign a sulking big headed Montserratian international.

No one forced him to walk out on us when we needed him most, that was his choice and if it's left him struggling to find a club during the pandemic then that's his hard luck.

He mentioned in an interview once that part of the reason he wanted to play under Bowyer was because Bowyer wanted to speak to him in person rather than take testimony from other managers that he'd fallen out with. Let's hope for his sake that manager's at potential clubs don't speak to Bowyer first.
  • I'm just grateful he's gone.

Hope you lot don't get too upset when he secures a decent move.
You know that there are no morals in football and players that score/create goals will always demand a premium. You can forget all the rubbish about his attitude and his decision not to play for us after the restart. Unprecedented circumstances!
His attitude, when he is on the pitch, is second to none.
He'll get a good move, as his talent deserves.
Just accept it and move on.

Only if he professed his regret and apologised all over his social media outlets.
Any apology would be hollow words. Actions speak louder and he has spoken. Never should we even think about having him back.

    Is that you Lyle?
You're a gutless dishonest coward who walked out on their contract. Fortunately not everyone shares your morals.

You might be a half decent footballer but as a human being you suck.

Money and ego are your only gods.

I'm glad we won't have to see you again.

He is a complete wanker but a good player, he will get his move.

I think I'll always feel conflicted about this.

On the pitch, Taylor was brilliant to watch and his attitude was second to none. He has also done more charity/community work than most Charlton players in recent times (even if it was in a LOOK AT ME kind of way).

I can't forget the good he brought to the club.

But I will never forget the way he left us

He likes PR and publicity so I'll take a lot of what he does with a pinch of salt. There are plenty of people doing good stuff out there who don't advertise it.

Obviously they’re all bigger clubs than us, but I wonder if the big move he spoke of was always a choice of Forest, Burnley, Galatasary, Celtic and Rangers.

I’d thought that Forest had been play off contenders for many years in a row, surprised to see last 5 have actually been 7th, 9th, 17th, 21st and 16th.

    #saveLyle anyone?
  • I’ve been talking about this to a Wimbledon mate, he reckons taylor was on £3k a week with them and moved to us for £12k a week. Rubbish or true?

Lyle probably doesn't give a toss about that as long as they pay him £20,000 a week.

No player at Wimbledon is.on 3k a week. One of my former work colleagues is well involved there and says that is well above there pay structure.

Wherever Taylor goes, I reckon his head will be well and truly mucked up by the fallout of his cowardly exit from Charlton. Don't think he'll ever be the same. Couple of games without a goal for his new club - whoever that is - and fans will be getting on his back. That will continue his downward spiral. Good riddance.

Well, part of me is happy about this because I like to imagine he was sat at home watching Forest get spaffed 4-1 by Stoke on the final day and miss out of the Play-Offs on goal difference. That must have been a real kick in the nads.
Having said that though, if they've only opened talks with him this month then it sort of implies that this isn't the magical life-changing move he had lined up. I'm beginning to wonder if there ever was a real move lined up, or if he just assumed that he could get a better deal by leaving Charlton and told Bowyer he had something in the pipeline to justify sitting at home over the summer.

Given Forest have been paying Jenkinson between 25k and 45k a week depending on your source I can see Lyle getting at least £25-30k there.

But where does all this money come from?

They don't have any parachute payment money, surely paying players that kind of money puts them at risk of FFP and a points deduction in the 2030/31 season?

Mate of mine who is a Forrest fan was telling me they have offered stupid wages to players who came to them inJanuary.

Gaetan Bong from Brighton is on 30k a week, he has only played one game since he joined and that was against us, we know how that went.

Looks like Cash and Worrall could go for big money which will settle things.

Pains me to say but I think Taylor could do OK there as Grabban doesn't have a full season in him due to his knees.

He could definitley get his reputation sacrificing 20k a week aswell I think.

Ridiculous how a team that hasn't finished in the play offs since 2011 is throwing wages around in those regions.

Even we finished above Forest in 2014/15 season!
