Quite happy to get £2m for him tbh

Don't want tattooed players at our club. Not the Charlton way. Good riddance.67

Very happy with that.4

He might do, he did for us. We do need a couple of strikers in now. What is happening regarding Schwartz?2

Good bit of business that8

Good luck Macca, some great moment for us last season! Some not so great ones either

Think £2 million is pretty good. Was hoping for nearer 3 but that's fine7

Done well to get £2m for him. He was a decent finisher at times but didn't add much else and needed far too many chances. I wish him well.0

Happy with Bowyer’s comments there. I like Macauley, but I think he has been poor since the restart last season and he is definitely still the project that Lee mentions. May well go on to be a cracking striker, but if he is this season’s Carl Jenkinson and helps us fill a few places, then I wish him well.
Hopefully means that Schwarz is imminent and he certainly seems a decent catch.15 -
1000% return.
That's twice he has gone for more money than Taylor ever has 😜😜
I wish him well.1 -
Good move. Need a goal scorer.0

I had no problem with his attitude or effort and wish him well.
Especially as I'm now playing up front tomorrow.31 -
There we go, money in the bank ..... but more importantly, extra room for manouevre under the wage cap.
Now we'll see 2 strikers sign as Bows & Gallen roll the dice again.

Not bothered in the slightest1

I'm pretty gutted, I liked him.
Good luck to him he will get goals for them and will be playing with a beast of a forward in Dykes4 -
All the best to him hope he does well0

Good luck to him, hope it works out at QPR. First time in a long time we've sold a player and it's felt like good business for us, although need to see the replacements to substantiate that. Got a sell on clause too so even better3

To turn him from a £200k signing into £2m sale in a year is unbelievable business. Especially for a player who quite frankly is not worth anywhere near that sort of money.22

Decent bit of business IF we sign some goal scorers.
Worked hard and was a trier but needed 7 opportunities to score- shows he had good positional sense and created the right chances for himself and going to a club in a better position as back up/ rotation striker may afford him the luxury of time to work on his finishing and improve his chance/ to goal ratio.
He's not had that with us as pretty much got thrown in on arrival due to necessity. Our need is more urgent in terms of getting players in now who will net chances rather than long term prospects.
Good luck Macauley. A decent striker in there.4 -
Great bit of business tbh. Bowyer said he wasnt banging on the door to leave but I felt his head had been turned.
Good luck all the same!2 -

Hard to decide if it's a good deal or not.
Got him for 200k, sold for 2m, in recent games he looked completely disinterested and when he didn't score he did little else and it was practically like having 10 men in the side.
But he's only 24 and scored 11 goals in the Championship in a struggling side who were relegated, so the potential is there.
2m might be a fantastic deal for us, but we might look back and say 'how did we let him go that cheap'. Time will tell but as ever i trust Bowyer and Gallen, and we might have other options lined up.16 -
We made a 1000% profit on a player who we can now plough back into the team.
Good move for Bonne, and maybe a good move for CAFC as long as he is replaced by a minimum 18 goal striker and another strong mid fielder who like Maddison can score goals as well.
Ps. Maddison can play wide or in the middle before we can bogged down with positions.

Good sale at that price.
Wish him luck, came across as a decent bloke and worked very hard on the pitch.

Good luck to Macauley Bonne. Really surprised that someone came in for him and that we received such a large fee. I don't think he was a great player, but I thought he did really well to get the most out of his very limited talent. A very "Charlton" player.
I hope this is a portent for the next few seasons of Gallen-Bowyer business. Find an unpolished diamond, get him for a low fee, get the most out of him for a short period of time, sell him on at a big profit, invest in someone better.
Players like Macauley Bonne won't ever play for Charlton in the Premier League. But business like this will be vital to get us there sooner.30
