    Fast. International. Good.
  • Curious to see this lad... Bowyer has wanted him twice now and got him at the second attempt

You dont keep trying for someone if they're not progressing

is he the one the club thought they'd signed in January? definitely a good sign if we've kept after him

Nope we showed interest in him in January but he went to Accrington

May have been because we turned our attention towards different targets ourselves

As cant see Smyth choosing them over us, not to be harsh

Neither it's Smith like Blacksmith. With a T-H at the end not an F.

That would have been January 2019 rather than this year, as he was at Wycombe last season

That would have been when he scored 1 goal in 19 appearances. There are some who don't like statistics. Personally I don't like strikers who don't score goals.

I have family connections to Norn Iron so always good to see another one in, I'm willing to overlook the Linfield past (for now). Good luck Paul!

We've had rather more strikers that don't score goals than do over the years...

Good luck Paul, look like you’re gonna have to bear the burden of scoring a lot of goals for us. Good luck!

Not in my 'ouse it ain't.
  • Welcome on board Smithy, May your boots kick hard and be fruitful.
  • I think if you watch the clips on the Shinnie thread you get the idea of why Smyth was brought in. I think he’ll play wide and whip the ball into the danger areas. He’s not come to be a striker.
  • A good addition to the squad   , quick and can play either up front or on the wing  .

Imagine a 4-3-3 with Doughty on one wing and Smyth on the other.

Our poor old striker in the middle would never keep up with them!
