Of course he has the right not to kneel and it shouldn’t even be questioned. I’d just question whether the kneeling has anything to do with the Black Lives Matter movement. Couldn’t it just be seen as a collective gesture in the fight against racism?
I also wish he’d be more specific when he says this:
"I would request anyone looks into Black Lives Matter to look into what that organisation does and what they stand for because it's scandalous that the world and the world's media has got behind Black Lives Matter.”
why is it scandalous? What have they done or said that’s so bad that you would say this in the media? Maybe lazy journalism, but it’s done him no favours. Makes him sound a bit daft.10 -
I have never got the whole diluted message thing, seems a bit of a cop out. Whenever a game is on Sky and players kneel the message couldn't be much more simple when they kneel, "in the fight against racism". It's pretty simple.
But yeah if he doesn't want to kneel, no one is making him
"You see what is happening - I'm not going into my beliefs into what went on in the Capitol building (referencing the attack on America's congress) this week because I've done my fair amount of research into it."
Absolutely no idea what he's on about with that bit though4 -

'He's going on about' that it's all staged or at least allowed! You really think it's so easy for a few 'Rednecks' to storm the senate, one of the most security
secure places in the world?

Further more the people behind BLM are not even black! It's the same as back in the day when the Nativity play was cancelled because it might offend the Muslims or seeks... The so called minority then say I have no issue with celebrating british customs at school!5

If anyone wants to "do their own research" then they should do it properly - read some peer reviewed papers from experts etc. Unfortunately most people who use the "I do my own research" phrase nowadays have just watched a few videos on YouTube, liked a post on Facebook and believe they're an expert.6 -

Lyle Taylor drives me mad. I hate what he did to us and his whole speech about leaving. But more often than not he speaks so much sense.
Appreciate his approach and reasoning.5 -

No nativities have been banned because any Muslim or Sikh found it offensive, I find chucking gay people off of high buildings and forced marriage of children offensive, but it’s not going to stop certain crackpots doing it anytime soon6 -

Nail on the head for me, well said Lyle, all is forgiven, welcome home son.9

As a black man I find the BLM movement offensive as it seems Lyle does too. So many things could make a change in the world but going down on one knee before a game is not one of them.22

There are loads of threads I find uninteresting on here but I simply ignore them.10 -
