Just got in. just in time. Match Thread.

It's Cobblers tonight. Okay, some of you will say it seems like that every week.

What does Lee Bowyer say? Probably the same as he says every week. I haven't got time to check.

Ryan still out, of course. Gilbey too. Maybe Matthews and Akin? Nobody has heard of Albie for a fortnight.
Prats available after suspension.

Charlton: Amos; Gunter, Pearce, Pratley, Maatsen, JFC, Watson, Morgan; Millar, Stockley, Washington.

Substitutes: Harness, Oshilaja, Jaiyesimi, Aneke, Shinnie, Smith, Schwartz

No surprise after Saturday with his hamstrings

Even less surprised to see Pratley in his place

Pratley and Pearce at CB. Can’t wait.
We will destroy them with pace

Pearce without Famewo. We’re about to make Northampton look like PSG

No idea why you'd drop Deji and pair the two steamboats together at CB. Good to see Albie back though.

Still confident we're winning this 2-0

Got to be Purrington. Left out of the squad entirely, second match on the spin.

    No Famewo.
Lee Bowyer explained the decision to rest Famewo, who could be back in the side as early as Saturday. He said: “Akin’s hamstring was tight towards the end of the game on the weekend. It’s too much of a risk to play him tonight. The right thing to do is to take him out for one rather than lose him for six or seven. He’s done really well since he’s come back into the side, but we couldn’t risk it.”

Suddenly not so optimistic about this one...

what has Deji done to be abandoned again?

Baffling stuff from Bow. How can Morgan be excluded entirely for weeks and then get in ahead of Smith and Shinnie? Not saying it's wrong but the players must be confused by all this

Forget to do a prediction on the pre-match thread as was going with a 2-0 win.

Now seen the line up & thinking a 2-0 defeat.

I see Pratley makes an immediate return & our leading goal scorer is once again on the bench.....and that is after only playing 45 mins on Saturday 🤔.

Nick Swindons 2 best players & once again they are left on the bench. Perhaps Bows might be best managing a Vets team as he obviously has something against the under 30's.

And I even bothered to buy the stream for tonight........Gah  !!

Quicker than Pratley. Lee can't be having that.

Personally, I think it's bonkers. If you going to play the lumbering Pearce, you need someone next to him with quicker feet.

Oshilaja's been mostly good recently. Bowyer loves an irrational grudge. Pratley is a decent CB at this level but so is Oshilaja

Not just without Famewo but partnering Pratley. Doubt you can get an older, less mobile centre half pairing if you tried. Even JFH would be fancying coming out of retirement & playing tonight.
  • Forget all about the team line-ups etc.

The really big news is my namesake is the guest tonight.

I just want to see THAT goal all over and over again!!

Agreed - one error really .  Better than Pearce over a run of games

Also, Smith has been a big part of our recent slide being arrested. Didn't deserve to be dropped imo. Morgan for Watson the change I'd have liked to see
