    Sub today
He’s a sub every game. Only managed 10 minutes today instead of his usual 20.

"F*ck sake we should have signed 39 year old Yann Kermorgant". Forest manager expresses rage

Some players suit a club and a team. Taylor should have felt that connection; but I think our idiot ownership issues clouded that.
I loved Taylor while he was here, and away games were special with the home team slagging him off - and then he scored. Deep joy 🤩

He made a terrible decision in lockdown. If he admitted that and apologised I think I would accept that. Not because he scores goals, but because we all make mistakes. I think he fits.

I'm just sat here in utter shock that there is a debate about who is better between Yann and Taylor.

Who next, Gary Doherty and Richard Rufus? Ooo that's a tough one.
It’s clearly not that stark .  If Taylor hadn’t done the dirty on us, there’d be a genuine debate, IMO.  Yann wins it but LT would be in the top 5 strikers of my time watching Charlton, with Clive, Hunt, D Bent and YK.  I am not sure our style of football under SCP saw us use YK to the best of his talent but he even adapted to that and he was amazing at Bournemouth and Reading.

And no doubt Taylor is an absolute prick !
Might seem a bit odd and it’s probably my sentimental 14 yr old self talking to me, but i would add David Whyte at his best to that list - my CAFC supporting life starts late 80s.

That season he was utterly sensational.
    Well said sir!!

Came on as a late sub yesterday, scored but was disallowed
  • Does it feel like it's almost guaranteed he will end up with Bows and Brum?

as much as I might dislike Taylor, I dislike people like jamesb1905 much much more.
Absolutely. He is probably a 14 year old kid who spends all day knocking one out over his social media comments

Lyle, I'd stay focused on trying to get your 5th goal in 35th appearance soon.

I read that stuff in the black boxes above, maybe it is printed out of context or something, or maybe it is the format, but I have feck all idea who is talking to who about what.
Does this kind of format of communication have any real meaning to anybody? It’s like random words, phrases and sentences thrown together like a chite art installation.
Is it a series of text messages. An email conversation? Instatweets? Does the world actually operate in any kind of significant way with this method of ‘communication’?
    Guesswork has more gravitas.

He's a piece of sh**... I wish him nothing but bad luck professionally and dont care enough about him to wish him bad luck personally.

The black box is the replies to Bowyer's farewell statement on Instagram to which Lyle Taylor has replied with two emojis (clapping hands and a heart) which indicate some happiness; someone has asked LT if those emojis are Lyle's happiness at Bowyer leaving or his love for Bowyer. To which Lyle Taylor responds that he was applauding Bowyer's classy statement and Bowyer himself as a person and that he bore no ill-feeling towards the club.

    Does that help?

You know that thing about an infinite number of monkeys and and infinite number of typewriters?
    That's Twitter, that is.
    It's a hive of arseholes.

To be fair, the same could be said about football forums as well  :D

Nothing wrong with him wishing us well and memorising the good times. It's fine and at least means something.

It is also just...a bit weird.

Surely he should just be concentrating on the club he now plays for? No one cares about a fake passion for Charlton.

A club he casually walked out on, even though he knew we were desperate to stay up.

    We aren't your mate Taylor.

If you are a c*nt (which you are) then just wear your heart on your sleeve and behave like a c*nt.

Don't attempt to be a secret knobhead.

    You never actually genuinely cared.

You walked out on us....we don't want random love letters, we've moved on and you decided to get off with a fat boring club.

    Overall, he's an alright bloke.

It's just football related. A sport.

    It's the Parker, Defoe disease.

No one should send him direct very insulting messages. That's just sad and its not the Charlton way.
