Leroy Ambrose said:I hate modern pop music. The over-production, the auto tune, the mumbling - I find it offensive that it's allowed to be called 'music'. But, every now and then... Damn.

PS: Don't ever find yourself as a 47vyear old man belting this out while sat at a set of traffic lights, to find three teenage girls stood at a bus stop, looking at you with a mixture of what can only described as mirth, pity and disgust...https://youtu.be/zein2Bq8ymI

Music connects on an emotional level and if you like a song then you like it. It doesn’t matter if some think it’s not ‘cool’ or it’s cheese. Music snobs piss me off and they should get off their high horses.
So talking about the source I have to admit that in the early 90s I was a huge fan of R Kelly. His music, anything he produced for other artists, I thought he was a genius. Obviously my opinion changed about him after the revelations about his deviancies but I haven’t gone as far as getting rid of my collection of his CDs, 12” vinyl etc. I’d feel a bit dirty listening to his tunes but taken on their own his songs still stand the test of time.0 -

Sugababes - some great pop songs
The lad's sister introduced me to this: perfectly crafted pop and I don't feel a scintilla of guilt when listening to it.
