    Positive news regarding Maguire injury, he spoke to the press today and said it is getting better. Still has 11 days until the Croatia game...likely to miss that but can live with that.

    My personal choice would be;

    Pickford
    James Maguire Stones Shaw
    Belligham Rice Mount
    Sancho Kane Foden

    Exact XI I would pick too
    Grealish for Bellingham for me. 
    Every day of the week.
    Can’t play Grealish in midfield alongside Mount and Rice, it would leave us too exposed. Bellingham is excellent defensively and has got the ability to pick the ball up deep and get us going.
    I think we could v Scotland and Czech Rep for example, but with Henderson or Bellingham instead of Grealish v Croatia.

    Yep Czechs have a great team and that was near enough Croatia's starting XI. They just give me PTSD with 2007 and 2018, along with Portugal, a team I just never fancy us against!

    Czechs are the side that have beaten us more recently than anyone I think... We may have beaten them about 5-0 at Wembley but they were a class out there, fully deserved their win.

    Really happy I picked the Romania game to go to rather than tonight's. Mind you, don't think anyone has ever been 'happy' to go to Middlesbrough.

    Happy to be mocked, but personally think Scotland will finish 2nd. I don’t rate Croatia or Czech Republic very highly at all. 

    Croatia have lost like 6 out of their last 10 matches.

    The way Scotland have been playing of late I wont be surprised if they sneak through in third like Ireland did last time out.

    Beat Belgium 2-1 at Wembley so could say yes... Then went and lost the next game against Denmark 1-0 which was another pretty poor performance from the players so who knows

    Judging from this Southgate has decided to use one of his 4 RBs to play LB rather than calling up an extra LB. 

    I get that Chilwell and Shaw aren't available, but bit dim on his part.

    Trippier has played LB before for us and did okay, he’s just a sit in for the two that can’t play.

    Calling up an extra LB? Who do you want? Aaron Cresswell?

    Trippier has plenty of experience playing both right and left back. I'd rather have him in the team with his La Liga winners medal over Charlie Taylor or Aaron Cresswell.

    Interesting comment to Southgate a second ago was that its unlikely that Saka, Foden, Bellingham would have made the squad last year had it not been delayed.

    Would be curious to see what Southgate's squad would have been

    Id also be curious to see what happens if Lingard does well tonight and TAA has a shocker - Nothing to say that Gareth cant swap the two in his final squad

    I’d guess Lingard has been told he’s the “27th man” and he’ll be called up if anyone picks up an injury.

    Candidates from the squad that played Sep 2020 in Iceland... Foden was included in that squad so I'm assuming he would've made the Euros last summer.

    I imagine it depends where that injury is - If its Henderson you'd hope that Ward-Prowse comes in else we are very light in front of the defence
