Is Dobson a free agent? Does his mum Anita know?1
-
First signing of the window I know 0 about - you don't really get teenagers making YouTube best bits videos of CDMs either to pretend we know what he's about. 23 years old with room to grow, if the reccy team see something in him, worth giving a chance.VFR4life said:George Dobson signing

he isn't, year left at Sunderland I believe, and yes she does. As does Brian May.I-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:Is Dobson a free agent? Does his mum Anita know?0 -
I had a conversation with one of my mates who's a Walsall fan a few years back and he was raving at the time that he thought dobson had the potential to play championship football one day. hopefully a player in there because the mate in question is the biggest pessimist I know. Mind you I would be if I supported Walsall.2

He does pass the "reducing the average age" test thoughbalham red said:George Dobson doesn't seem to pass the "are his current club's fans sad to see him go" test.
Looks like they'd be happy to see him leave but then he is only 23 and that place probably hasn't been the best environment to grow in really.
Not the most exciting of signings but might turn out to be good business1 -
For "other thread" purposes is Dobson-May a CB or a CM?0

3 hours ago the Sunderland Echo reported Dobson was back training with Sunderland.
I'm not keen on this one, hope it's not true.0 -
Oh Eddie Youds... said:I'll be gutted if we don't compete with Wigan to sign Scott Fraser. Definitely worth pushing the boat out for as our marquee signing.
Has the ability to change the way we play to the exciting brand of football TS hoped to bring to Charlton when he took over.
but Fraser said he wanted to move closer to Scotland …

I still think we need about another 8 players as a minimum and 12 as maximum. They’re not all going to be earmarked as definite starting 11. I’ve no knowledge of Dobson but at age 23 with games for Sunderland and AFC under his belt he’ll be a player adding depth to the squad and can grow with us. I’d guess he’s been on Gallens watch list for a while at least. Not a signing to blow us away but if he signs I’m sure Gallen and Nigel are convinced he’ll make us stronger.2
-
Dobson not a marquee signing by any stretch but comes with a decent football education and at 23 plenty of time to develop. At the very least would expect him to be a good squad player and on a free there is little risk. Would be a very sensible (if not exciting) signing imo.1

I remember Dobson from FM, he’s a ball winning or box to box midfielder rather than a creative playmaker.
What do Wimbledon fans say about him? That’s probably a better guide than Sunderland where it clearly hasn’t worked out.3 -
Played 142 games so he’s got something about him age 231
-
Wimbledon fans loved him .. sort of nuts and bolts player who does the dirty work and goes unnoticed but sort of player you want in your team15
-
I’m not going to make a judgement until napa says what he thinks.10
-
Sounds like a bit of cover for Ben Watson or a younger replacement for Darren Pratley then...RonnieMoore said:Wimbledon fans loved him .. sort of nuts and bolts player who does the dirty work and goes unnoticed but sort of player you want in your team1 -
Was also told Ronnie is still in Denmark and not back yet training with the others11
-
Sunderland fans have some of the worst takes going on their players.2
-
Dobson 6”1 and can play centre back
Sunderland fans pretty certain Chris Maguire joining us as well1 -
Hopefully Watson is cover for somebody else who is cover for somebody else.ForeverAddickted said:

I would presume that Watson would be the cover in this instance.ForeverAddickted said:

I'd be happy with Dobson. Young, versatile and did well in this league last season. I take anyone not doing well at Sunderland with a pinch of salt to be hoenst as in recent years it's been a place where careers go to die. There's plenty of players, including a couple of ours recently, who looked dead and buried at Sunderland and then went on to do well for us.

Plays centre midfield and solid. We definitely need one.1

Could Dobson and Maguire be the two who supposedly were training with us ??0

Dobson cant be training with us, as he's still contracted to SunderlandRonnieMoore said:Could Dobson and Maguire be the two who supposedly were training with us ??0 -
Dobson will be on a free I think, Sunderland looking to cut loose. I’d take him, right age, played well for Wimbledon in the same league. Wanted us to sign him when he was at Walsall so I’d be happy.6
-
They really do, Charlie Wyke got them 26 league goals last season and I still saw some of their fans slating himRothko said:Sunderland fans have some of the worst takes going on their players.6 -
Maguire? He'll bring the average age right back up again.1
-
Can’t see us being in for Maguire at 32 years of age. That one doesn’t make sense, unless we’re extremely struggling to bring in a winger.George Dobson sounds like a young Darren Pratley, can’t say I’m excited but he wouldn’t be the first signing to prove me wrong. Very little risk being a free transfer.1
-
My pals unsure whether it’s a perm or a loan, signed and trained today though14
