Yep ...... and you can probably guarantee we'll sign 5 loan players before the end of the window.golfaddick said:
We are in the same boat, but haven't yet really started the rebuild.RonnieMoore said:
Wigan and Ipswich both lost large amount of their squads so if may look like they signed a few players but squad wise they are still low on the size they had last seasonEugenesAxe said:Wigan are going to have a squad of about 90 players and they’ll win the league with 150 points, as they will be so amazing the league will introduce bonus points per game.
By the sounds of it.
We currently have 12 first team players.
We always do, same as every club in this division.
So that'll be 17. And we've been told there's more irons in the fire behind the scenes.
I hate to disappoint, but we are sure to have the numbers in by the the time the window closes.
And certainly sufficient players in numbers and quality to put out a decent competitive team for our first game.

Jeez - 5 minutes with you must be so depressinggolfaddick said:
Really ?? I'm starting to think the opposite. Too faux positive. As someone posted months ago, just sounds like the "really brilliant !!!! " bloke from the Fast Show. Cheesy peas anyone...?Fortune 82nd Minute said:
You seriously can't help but warm to the guy!Scoham said:4 -
It’s about how they fit together as a team. Powell’s signings of players like Matt Taylor and Andy Hughes didn’t scream ambition but played big parts in our title win.Lazy_eye_metaphor said:A good signing but not a particularly ambitious one. Can't see how that fits in with winning the league this season, let alone being in the champions League in five years. That's just the kind of signing we'd have had under RD.
Obviously there's more to come this window. I hope they're of a higher profile than this.5 -
Anyone know if we will sign another today? Bit of a strange one announcing so early.1

You reckon anyone made it to 5 minutes?Lordflashheart said:

I could be wrong but I think there was a minimum donation for the certificate but you could donate anything. Not sure if the minimum was a tenner or a fiver. Does anybody else remember or did I dream it!addick1956 said:

Genuinely no idea whatsoever about Dobson, but take the Sunderland comments with a pinch of salt because he only played one season for them and that was two years ago.6

You broke the news @VFR4life
Well done mate.
As Dobson can play CB or Defensive midfield to replace Inniss when he is injured or suspended and play instead of Watson in the holding position.
IF Steve Gallen and Nigel Adkins believe he is good enough then at 24 and back to his roots in Harrold wood, Romford area then it could just be a good signing.
*A reminder we are a League 1 club* and however Shite you think this division is, it's our reality so just support Steve,Nigel, Thomas and JJ who are doing everything in their power to attract players to a third tier club with ambition.13 -
I can assure you (as I know the father of one of the U23’s) that Adkins has TOTALLY transformed the atmosphere in the club, from the receptionist right the way up to senior players and coaches - it’s a very happy and positive place, where people look forward to going to workAddicks59 said:Compare this guy to bowyer must be a totally different atmosphere around club brilliant.Center back in today or tomorrow fingers crossed it is tucker.37 -
charlton_hero said:Maguire? He'll bring the average age right back up again.
I can't be the only person to wonder if Maguire or someone similar is going to replace the homesick Ronnie Schwartz ?

It’ll be interesting to see how he does in pre season. Feels a bit like the signing of Simon Walton. But what do I know.Good luck George.0
-
Simon Walton? He cost us £1m from Leeds and was useless. George is coming on a free and has over 100 appearances in league 1, no comparison 😂5

CA1975FC said:Mullin only 26 so coming into his prime it would seem
Lyle XXXXX was 27 when he had his first good season as a goalscorer at Wimbledon and his time at Charlton was successful until the injury and the big contract turned his head.
If you can score in League 2, you can score in League 1 IF you can be used around and in the box with a good service.
Just a hunch but I feel Ronnie Schwartz will be staying home ?0 -

why would Wimbledon be quoted £250k? It was reported he was going to be available on a free, Wimbledon offered him a contract which he turned down.RonnieMoore said:

I know what you mean but, Lord I've worked for bosses who who were totally negative and couldn't inspire me. They absolutely sucked the life out of me and made it a misery to go into work. That is something that can never be aimed at Adkins.golfaddick said:

As if Wimbledon were going to pay 250k but thanks to our super negotiation skills, a club in debt settled for zero.0

Source? There are loads of articles from local rags linking him with a move back to Wimbledon and leaving Sunderland since April. Not a single one quotes a fee, let alone that exact one.RonnieMoore said:
