I thought it was testing positive for cocaine?Dizzle said:Wasn’t Mendez-Laing sacked first some proper weird reason? Like rumoured to be offering money to fight people in car parks? He’ll fit right in down here with Makro round the corner0 -
Mendez Laing is such a weird footballer. I haven’t seen him much but every time I have he seems like a quality winger.
Yet he’s never really been talked about by the media. I don’t get what is going on there because he does seem to have a lot of talent and great physical attributes.0 -
Very, very, very disappointed there’s only been one signing today.12

Very good signing especially with Gilbey laid low with Covid and who must be in doubt for the opening game of the season. Welcome back Sean.2

Probably what Cawley was replying too. Both non starters & wouldnt want them here anyway.RedRobin said:Someone on Twitter has said we’re interested in Sol Bamba and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing?!?! Mendez-Laing would be a beast at this level, as would Bamba but can’t see us paying big wages though.0 -
CEL, is this the one you knew was close?2

My current thoughts on the squad depth and what we need.
Two defenders (left back, right centre back), two wingers and a solid Stockley back-up.

No worries about a lack of height in the team this year! Is NAs tactics all about overpowering the opposition?0
-
Doubt it's the primary tactic but in this league having that kind of physicality is probably no bad thing. A lot of the trouble came last season when we lacked physical brute strength and got brushed aside.Taxi_Lad said:No worries about a lack of height in the team this year! When we went back to using Stockley as a target man/battering ram it worked. Wasn't pretty... But worked.1 -

Gomes and Edwards are both on trial/training...21

I wonder if Madger would fit our system better? One player I know absolutely nothing about.Richard J said:

Had a bit of a read up on Kyle Edwards.
West Brom fans rate him better than Leko and saw him as a starter this season, in a team relegated from the top flight.
Would be a huge coup if we can get him.Is there any truth in the rumour he’s training with us?1 -
Edwards made 5 appearances in the Premier League last year, and 30 appearances in their Championship promotion team the year before. I am surprised he needs a trial tbh - just sign him up.VFR4life said:Gomes and Edwards are both on trial/training...16 -
Well at least Bowyer won't be stealing him off us then.Cafc43v3r said:1 -
The answer might be a very simple one (forgive my ignorance) - but why do some players have trials and others are just signed up?0

Edwards is not on trial with us20
