    We need three points now. Another blow out and those points dropped will already be impacting our playoff chances. I don’t fancy our chances at Oxford if I’m honest. No goals in us.

    Doesn’t feel right this. We’re miles off. Weaker than a squad that finished 7th in an arguably weaker league last season. And all this bobbins about waiting for bargains at the end of the window. We need a fair few experienced, quality, permanent signings to supplement any potential loans.
    It’s probably the last few years of utter shithousery on the ownership front, but are there any rumblings that all is not what it should be from TS?

    Jesus, we just need some positive news and clearly none to say. Even Bowyer would say yeah we’ve had one in today or potentially one in by Saturday, working on it, but we get zilch from Adkins.

    I would say with confidence it isn't anything to do with Adkins as who thinks he doesn't want them in? He will be frustrated and hoping that whatever the blockage is, it clears up. He will probably be more aware than we are, how likely it is to happen.

    Yes the market is difficult, but the lack of activity can't just be blamed on that

    For the first time I’m actually worried . Other rival clubs are making signings and we haven’t signed anyone for over two weeks. 
    That can’t be right . 

    This squad is painfully thin . Worse than I can remember under some terrible owners and managers . Certainly worse than under Duchatulet 


    Either we don’t have a budget to get players in and if so why ? or Gallan has lost his powers of persuasion. 
    Either way it definitely feels like something is seriously wrong .

    For so long anyone that dared suggest something is not up was told to zip it and stop being negative.......

    Well we still need 6-7 quality players and it just doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen.

    Im not looking forward to post 1st Sept when the quality hasn’t arrived in the numbers we need - because we then need to switch our attention to what’s going wrong behind the scenes and they are never nice discussions on here.

    But as loads of us are saying now - Roland / Driesen windows were ten times stronger than this. And that ownership was lambasted for it.

    Something really doesn’t seem right here.

    Let’s take a breather, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t getting a bit anxious.  But the fact remains that despite the thin looking squad we had available for Saturday, we did have 4 first team players injured.  And we still have 3 weeks to get players in, of which NA has clearly stated, despite the lack of specifics, we will be getting some in.

    We’re not at panic stages yet, I’d say more of a few concerned eyebrows raised, that’s it.

    I think ged roddy is pulling the strings in recruitment, and that frightens me, and can see gallen and adkins being right pissed off about it,, even his son shouldn't be anywhere near the team either... just my opinion

    Of the 4 missing Watson is past it and Schwarz looks very dodgy. Even more of a problem is that neither our midfield or forward line looks up to it. So we don't just need more bodies, we need better quality bodies in 4 or 5 positions than the ones we have.

    What we don't know about the recruitment team, is what money they have at their disposal. Might be unfair to focus on Roddy or Gallen if they have peanuts.

    We spent a comparative fortune on players under Roland, particularly in the early period.

    His original problem was not lack of funds it was what happened to them.

    Bauer, Sarr, JBG, Vetokele.... big loan signings that we would have had to cover significant wages such as Bielik and Cullen.

    Anyway enough on Roland - all I care now is we get 7 top league one players in between now and Sept 1st.

    And I still maintain that these players need to be more Cullen level than Clare.

    Didn't he spend that (or close to it) on Piotr Parzyszek? I can recall hearing it was a far old whack.   

    Nicky Ajose was a fair amount too if memory serves. 

    Also Naby Sarr, Patrick Bauer, Vetokele, Tucudean, Teixeira..

    That is not the case SG is head man in the recruitment set up … and SG has said many times his recruitment team are working hard behind the scenes….
