Of the 4 missing Watson is past it and Schwarz looks very dodgy. Even more of a problem is that neither our midfield or forward line looks up to it. So we don't just need more bodies, we need better quality bodies in 4 or 5 positions than the ones we have.
Agreed, in reality we're missing 2 first teamers in Purrington and Gilbey. Watson left his legs in Nottingham, it's the equivalent of a once great player finishing in Qatar or Australia for a final payday

Was genuinely excited to see some of the younger players get a crack tonight but I’ve left massively concerned and trying not to have a knee jerk reaction.

Adkins seems to have a good reputation all round ... except at Sheffield United.

I've said it so many times and I'll say it again, the likes of Clayden, Ghandour, Barker, Elewere and Roddy are nowhere near good enough to be squad players, not yet.
People who point to other youngsters who stepped up like Doughty, Aribo, Lookman, Shelvey, Gomez, Konsa, Cousins etc. miss the point. They were all earmarked in the youth squads, and when they played mens football they stood out, even against senior pros. Nothing against the lads we have in the academy right now, but none of them stand out in men's football, and if they do it's for the wrong reasons.

In a weird situation because whilst I believe this to be true, you're the one saying it so I have to think it's actually not.
It's painfully clear that the current squad is nowhere good enough to challenge for promotion ... either automatic or via the play-offs.
Yes, we have some time to improve the squad, but we've left ourselves a lot to do.
