At the game:
MacG: 5.5 poor for the first goal, kicking was a bit suspect at times and didn’t command his box
Matthews: 6 - mostly solid but didn’t really get forward much
Inniss: 8 - a rock in defence, we need to use him better at corners and free kicks
Famewo: 8 - mostly solid
Gunter: 5 - average defending and woeful in attack
Dobson: 6.5 - played well first half, went missing second
Clare: 4 - invisible for most of the game and added nothing when he had the ball, doesn’t seem a great signing
DJ: 6.5 - why were we playing it to his head? Struggled all game.
Morgan: 8 MOM - worked hard and was at the centre of most of what was positive which wasn’t much. Needs to improve his accuracy with dead balls and his shooting. Had one shot on target which he kept down well and one at the death he skied into car park
Washington: 8 - worked hard in attack and defence but needs to be closer to Stockley for the knock downs. One good link up led to the shot that was saved first half.
Stockley: 7.5 - got lots of flick ons but doesn’t seem to use them to find colleagues. Cheap booking and lots of silly fouls
Davison: 7.5 - worked really hard, seems a tad slow and had no chances to score
Referee: 1 - terrible (bar the pen) , fell for all the Oxford play acting and time wasting
Watson: n/a 4 - jeez, he’s slow.
Clayden n/a 7 - looked lively when he came on, would have liked to have seen more of him

MacG: 5.5 - Decent saves but distribution is poor and got beat at near post for the second. Early days but doesn't look as good as either Amos or Philips
Matthews: 5 - Wasn't helped by DJ but was on backfoot all game
Inniss: 6.5 - Won his headers and tackles but nothing offensively
Famewo: 7 - Best defender on the day and some forward attempts but passing forward was poor
Gunter: 5 - Lack of decent left foot exposed
Dobson:7.5 - Worked hard all game but wasn't helped by the rest of the midfield
Clare: 4 - Couldn't get into the pace of the game and offered little
DJ:2 - See Clare but hardly touched the ball
Morgan: 3 - Lost the ball for their first, lost a tackle for their second. Tried hard all game but nothing came off
Washington: 7 - \Worked hard all game and took a good pen
Stockley: 4 - Won defensive headers but very few when up front. Offered no threat on goal
Davison: 3 Tried hard but nothing came off for him
Referee:2 - Surprised he gave the pen as pretty much every other decision he gave to Oxford

Matthews: 5 thought he had a bit of a stinker today

DJ: 5 quietest I’ve seen him, however they doubled up on him, if we had another good winger on they couldn’t do that on both.

Stockley: 6 Won the penalty and always looks like a threat
Davison: 5 Not sure he is the game changer we need from the bench

Watson: We improved when he came on . Last season the problem was Watson playing with Pratley . Individually either of them are useful players at this level .
