  • Ged Roddy describes analytics as the first step. Then we scout players- in person nationally or using video internationally. Ged and Steve talk. If they identify a target, they look at their social profile and check background. If green, they move forward with manager and owner.
Gallen did use Lavelle as an example though where scouting him showed that he's a "winner"

Something that the analytics cant do
  • Gallen said Adkins speaks to every player before they sign

I’m pretty sure in Kirks signing video he hadn’t spoken to him yet but maybe I’ve got that wrong
  • The owner and the manager do have a veto role.

Have there been any players than SG, GR, and NA have all wanted but TS has said "no" to?

The analytics did identify him in the first place though, no?

Scouting those players as well could then potentially show the faults of relying solely on the other side, no?
  • Ipswich, Wigan and who's the third? Sunderland?

I thought maybe Pompey. They brought the likes of Morrell and Ogilvie late on.

And also slashed their costs early.  Including losing players to us, Wigan and Ipswich.
  • Both Arter and Lee can be recalled in January but thats no surprise

"Josh Davison has improved considerably" - Gallen. Adkins is really impressed with him.

We will have budget for January. We're in a good place.

I wonder if it's similar to Famewo last year when no one realised we had to renegotiate that loan in January

We were told AMB would get in Ross County's team. The deal favours us if he doesn't play and them if he does.

Either that or just like Jed Steer - Remember Bowyer saying in the past that the majority of loan deals seem to have the January recall clause these days

GR spoke to TS three hours ago. TS talked about reminding the fans he's in it for the long term.
    Good to hear if so.

Ged added its the worst conversation he has to have with TS when he speaks to him after a defeat as he's got to try and explain it

To be clear this was said in response to questions about Adkins future

Thats easy one to explain, "they scored more than us boss"
  • TS has breakfast with the players when he's over

Sounds extremely invested in the club by what Roddy is saying

As a Football club rather than just the League Table
  • Ronnie is injured and is currently back in Denmark.

Seems that they did have offers for him in the summer, and Gallen still really hope that it works out for him

In the context of a question around having a good budget for January.

Shouldn't Adkins be doing that or is Roddy actually his boss?
  • Amazed at the openness with which both SG and GR answered the questions.

Also, SG and GR appear to be working very closely together and, on the face of it, get on very well personally.

Worth pointing out something that Gallen said at the start.

Roddy has come in, we've hired more scouts as before that happened it was just Steve on his own, and for him we kept saying that he looked tired and shouldnt have to endure the workload each transfer window... But even Steve stressed how exhausting it was, and was a strain on his mental health even
  • Excellent evening,  thanks for organising.
