My opinion is to advertise the job formally, and see who applies.
Don’t put out feelers and beg ask anybody, look for somebody who wants it.2 -

I hope this isn't an audition for Jackson and he's merely filling in till a new manager is appointed.
I have no problem with JJ or JE staying on as long as that is in addition to the new manager bringing in his own people.

I'm a pretty tolerant sort of guy. I gave him a chance even though he wasn't my first choice at the time. And to be fair he did well last season given the circumstances. But after most of the performances this season, he'd lost me. Just couldn't get behind him. His tactics were just naive and he persisted with this 433 formation when everyone could see it just didn't work. Letting him go is the right decision and gives us an opportunity for a mid-table position or better (Wishful thinking). He's a nice bloke and I wish him all the best. Is Jacko the right man for the job ... Hmmn. Let's just ponder that thought2

Wish him well. Horrible situation all round, but it was never going to work and it would've gotten more acrimonious as the weeks went by.
Big statement of intent needed from the players now, and I am expecting them to step up massively if playing for NA has been the problem. They owe us for the level of crap they've produced over the last 13 games and there's nowhere left for them to hide now4 -
C'mon Jacko - time to prove the doubters wrong.

Yes Jacko. Time to shut up the naysayers.

Do yourself a favour, Jacko.
Get on the phone to Curbs and ask where he thinks we've been going wrong.
You know, he'll tell it as he sees it.
An experienced outside view could be helpful.

I would be delighted if it works for Jacko, the transition from captain to manager would be great, and he’s a smart cookie who I think has a idea of how he would like to get the team playing. Fingers crossed it works2

my concern is how long do we give JJ to try and sort this out and if in the short term he can't then will it be too late to save our season for anyone permanently coming in. Let's forget Sunderland results wise, although hoping for a much improved performance, we then have two homes games in four days. If we fail to win one of those is that it for him? Harsh maybe but if that happens we will really be deep in the brown stuff by then. Obviously I hope he wins both.

This season id dead and gone, avoiding relegation is the only target now, if JJ achieves that Tommy will see it as saving a few quid.0 -

That was the last time that we came from behind to win. 2-0 down we won 3-2.
At least Jacko knows how to do a Golfie !!!7 -
Johnnie Jackson's red & white army does have a ring to it.
Good luck Nigel, shame it didn't work out. I hope he gets himself a good job elsewhere.0 - Sponsored links:

Sunderland is a free hit. Not expecting a result but anything resembling a performance with some effort will be a bonus.Next few games afterwards:
Doncaster (H)
FA Cup
Pizza trophy
Burton (A)
Plymouth (H)
I imagine the plan is to appoint someone for the Burton game.0 -

Wish NA well in the future, just didn't work out.0

I love Jacko but is it really time to bring in an experienced Manager to turn things around as apposed to a inexperienced manager?
The club is crying out for a Wilder or even a Warnock type manager (not that I’d want him here) but we are desperate to move on and up. With Jacko, I am sure we’d get the “new manager bounce” but could he sustain it? Personally I have my doubts0 -
Don’t like to see anyone sacked but there was no real option in this case. NA seemed a nice enough bloke but it just didn’t work out. Wish him all the best for the future.0

Would like to have seen Jackson and euell supported some way officially by curbs and peacock- that surely would have been a great learning experience1

Be interesting to see what team/set up JJ opts for. We'll know if the 4-2-3-1 was an issue if JJ changes it0
