4 My Missus is already moaning that people won’t be wearing masks
5 My missus doesn’t want to go on the train
6 My Missus is moaning it’s too far to walk from the other side of Charlton Park

Sorry, but this has got loss written all over it despite our recent upturn in fortunes #PrayForMrDick 😭
I think she is saying she really does not want to go.
  • Plymouth are flying, thank god they don't have any specific motivation to want to win this one and avenge a humiliating result...

I might be completely making this up BUT, I'm sure the appeal panel don't sit on the week of internationals as they're all on the piss all doing something meaningful at the FA meaning it'll be next week when his appeal is heard

What are you sitting down for?
You should be standing up belting out 'your support is fucking shit' 😬

I can see Deji playing as the central CB and Pearce going left, even. Will be interesting to see how it lines up
I dont think so. The way we have been setting up the back 3 had had either Lavelle or Pearce as the central player expected to sit the deepest almost as a sweeper and do the least amount of work on the ball (also requiring the least pace), the 2 outside CH's have both been expected to carry the ball and also move across and cover a gap created by the wing back advancing at times. Just because Pearce is left footed does not mean he should do that role. He has excelled in a role that has played to his strengths and not expected him to do the things he is not so good at. Lets not expose him by shifting him away from that. Gunter/Deji/Clare can all fill those roles despite not being naturally left sided.

I know we have a settled Midfield but would quite like to see Clare in CM the way we are currently playing. He has the energy and workrate to do well in this side and he has impressed me in some games particularly off the bench against Portsmouth. he has also showed shades of Jacko with driving runs and that ability perfectly time a late run into the box.

Clare in CM is definitely an option if Gilbey gets injured or his form falls away

They have a really solid defence and it will need an outstanding performance from wingers and Washington to get past them if stockley isn’t playing. Also stockley is a big big asset at defending set pieces and again if he is missing…

My back three would definitely have Pearce in the middle, no way should he be pushed out to the left side and exposed.

I think you have to have Gunter playing left of that back three, where he's played for Wales in the past and Clare can continue his run on the right side of the three.

Playing Souare in the back three is an interesting option and something we did against Orient in the Pizza Cup I believe?

Looking forward to this one as the valley will be full again. Starting off early from Norwich with grandson for his second game. Pop in to see my 85 year old mum and then game time! Hoping Jayden will be available. Gonna be a good one. 2-1 addicks. Lee and Pearce. COYRs!!

I see from Jacko's press conference that we've appealed Stockley's red and Famewo's yellow and that he is hoping to hear the outcome tomorrow. I'd be amazed if Jayden's red was overturned but it would be a right result if Famewo's yellow was overturned. If not, I imagine the back three will be Clare/Pearce/Gunter, with DJ and Purrington continuing as wing backs. Hopefully Leko and Matthews will be back in contention very soon.

A very difficult game in prospect but a great occasion with nearly a full house. Plymouth's run has to end sometime, so let's hope we can reprise Lee Bowyer's first game in charge, when they were also riding high. A draw would, however, be a very respectable result against the division's form team.

If Kettle was the referee you are allowed to appeal anything.
  • Like everyone I can't wait for this game, I do feel that a draw would be a very decent result, but I'm feeling strangely confident, 2-1 to JJ's ever improving Addicks.

To be honest, I didn’t think you could but I’m sure that’s what Jacko said

I did think you couldn't appeal a yellow unless it was for mistaken identity. Maybe you can when it is materially a wrong decision not open to interpretation. I mean, if Famewo was booked for say time wasting and that is demonstrably wrong based on the time he took, maybe you can. We shall see. If JJ has said we have appealed it, we must have done so.

Maybe they are appealing mistaken identity. I do not think anyone at the ground thought Famewo had wasted any time at that throw as he only had the ball in his hand for 2 seconds.
  • Would take a point against a very good Plymouth side however in my best Kevin Keegan voice "I would luv it if we beat em"

The players should not need much in the way of encouragement with a rocking Valley so it will all come down to player quality and game plans.

Wasn't it the case that Ben Purrington had the ball, was going to throw it in but then left it to Famewo, who barely had time to pick the ball up before Kettle brandished the yellow card. Jacko described it as "ludicrous" in a piece by Richard Cawley after the game, so maybe it's some kind of hybrid mistaken identity appeal.

The grounds for appealing yellow cards must be very narrow or it would have the potential to waste an enormous amount of administrative time and energy - especially with idiots like Kettle running amok.

It was indeed Ben that threw him the ball, but the real delay was one of their players throwing the ball down the line in the wrong direction. That said, if had told Purrington to get on with it and he had then thrown it to Famewo, then surely it was he that ignored the instruction and threw it to Famewo so should have been the one that was booked.
