Should drop all ST prices next season, like Bradford City have done, to get as many in as possible week in week out.

Can’t call them plastics anymore. They’re molded synthetic polymers now.21

Brought a chelsea mate down. He was well
impressed. His only other visit was in the away end with a forest fan in that 1-1 game just after we went up when we played like Brazil for 45 mins and the atmos was also class. After years of disparaging jibes from him and others about me being a sad bastard being so obsessed with lowly Charlton, think he kind of gets it now!30 -

Going from a freebie to 23 pounds, 2 weeks before Christmas is a massive jump4 -
Think a lot of money was made on the 'extras' Crossbars was heaving had 600 people in there and still queuing outside, guest ale -Doom Bar- was sold out by 1.305

I would normally have a beer at half time did not bother today.

Not as many as that really, but believe it could have been seats allocated.

The "big attendance"/ ticket giveaway hoo doo curse was broken today n'all. Great atmosphere and loads of families there today which is great to see. Hopefully the club will push the half season tickets next few weeks and get some new regulars.
Great initiative from TS and the club and fortunately result and atmosphere paid off.6 -
For once they pre poured some of the pints, so you got served far more quickly.
Plus the staff seemed generally more clued up.7 -

What ever the actual attendance it was a cracking atmosphere/game.2

Was great seeing the stadium busy again and made even better by a quality performance and atmosphere. They need to do some work on getting people into stadium a bit quicker, as queues were really long and slow moving for the West Stand. In the end they opened the exit gates to try and get everyone in faster. My season ticket was stuck in my pocket, but I got let in by showing the steward my Gaye Bykers on Acid ticket from the night before!2

Pal of mine who sits next to me in covered end lower bought a Millwall mate (I know, I know) and an NI based Rangers fan, both really enjoyed it.0

Best sight of the day for me, walking down to crayford station to get the famous loop train just before 2pm, woman with three small kids all decked out in Charlton scarfs walking just in front of me, Hoping it was they’re first taste, never seen them before, really hope the atmosphere and result brings them back, in fact, that’s what this promotion was all about. Crucial result for more reasons than the three points.27

Great success.
Yes, there has to be a balance between freebies and ST/match day sales but it shows the potential.
Using your "advocates" to promote the product is much cheaper and much more effective than other marketing and only possible when you respect those fans and think long term.
The Radical was much busier than normal as well.
Seemed to be plenty of stewards to help by the turnstiles too so no massive queues.
@AFKABartram hope your fears proved unfounded.
Good to see @SE7toSG3 on the pitch pre-match. Maybe all the Fill the Valley stuff took some focus off Armed Forces Day but there was a big crowd to see it.5 -
New recruit on his second visit. He did kids for a quid and some freebies from me for him and his dad for yesterday. They're going to get half season tickets.
Deal is his mum makes me Keralan curries 😁64 -
Fantastic initiative and so great to have the crowds flocking down Floyd Road.Small point though not of criticism but puzzlement. Why was the game shown as sold out when clearly given the large blocks of empty seats together it wasn’t? Can’t be that those that got the free tickets then didn’t use them were all with seats together?More of the same going forward though.0

I would guess that yesterday cost the club about £50k in lost ticket revenue. You might regard that as a worthwhile investment (it was certainly successful in its own terms) but if you keep doing it then the likely effect will be to increase losses, not reduce them. There are other ways of doing it that don’t cost anything like the same money, however.3 -
