    It’s a safety call, not anything to stop Lewis winning. Why would F1 not want a season ending winner takes all show down next race?

    The one thing they could’ve done is split the strategy and kept one of Bottas or Lewis out and changed tyres on the other.

    First they had to move the car, then they needed time to inspect the barrier, then discuss if it needed replacement or could be patched up. It’s shit luck for Hamilton but it’s tin foil hat stuff to say the authorities are deliberately conspiring against Hamilton.

    He turned back on to track and just blocked Hamilton

    They have to penalize Verstappen for that. Left the track to get the move done. Then unsafe re-entry. Stewards have made such a rod for their own back not stamping down on Verstappen earlier.

    No way he won't get penalised. Outside of individual rivalries it was a terrible decision to red flag the race as it creates the danger of a restart. Safer to keep going with the Safety.

    I wouldn’t guarantee it. Stewards have been extremely lenient in recently.

    Drivers got penalised for what Max did all weekend in F2... They either gave the position back or they got a five sec penalty

    I can't see how he can get away with that. Two issues, overtaking outside the track and returning to the track in a dangerous manner. It isn't even debatable that it was Hamilton's corner.

    Why do they need to line up on the grid for the restart behind the safety car? If the track is clear why not just have a standard formation lap where the leader sets the pace?
