Just trying to wrap my head around why giving JFC a contract for a year (when he's unlikely to play at all) after going through two ACLs is a good thing while signing this lad who by all accounts is back fit and ready to play is a bad thing.
Standing by JFC when he did his was 100% the right thing to do.  He did it playing for us.

If Browne is fit and able to play and his rebuilt knee, that was an issue before his ACL, is now 100% it's not an issue.  Until he trys no one, even experts, KNOW, then can make educated guesses.
And what do you say if JFC doesn't play all year and decides to bugger off at the end of his contract.   Were we then right to stand by him?!
That's why we put the option in?

I think this is almost a perfect storm in terms of Burstow. We don't really look threatened by relegation and it seems unlikely we will worry the top 6 so there will never be a better time for us to blood one of our youngsters in a relatively risk free environment, hopefully ready for next season to make a serious impact. Sending him out on loan would have been the option should we have still been in contention and or Stockley was still fit but would surely be madness unless we have something special lined up AKA Defoe :):)

You have Clare and JFC to come back into that CM category next season but wing backs defo need improving.
Clare is a right back or right centre back .
No, he’s a central midfielder who has the athleticism and ability on the ball that Jackson wants from one of his outside centre backs to venture into midfield and join the attack. He has the ability to play there, and overall has done very, very well, because of playing at right back previously in his career. He understands the defensive side of the game better, but he is still a midfielder playing in defence.
I don’t think he has the passing quality or awareness to play there .  Evidently I’m outnumbered on this feeling but he looks much better in defence to me .  I think he wants to play in midfield, certainly.

Lyle Taylor is not in the Forest squad for tonight’s league match……just saying

Mason Burstow is barely 19 and a half.
He has still development potential, let him grow.
But a loan to Leyton Orient will be no better than bobbling around our first team as he is doing at the moment.
    He's our main goal threat!!

Burstow is the only striker scoring goals, so it's absolutely insane why some of you would accept him being loaned out...?

Since the Orient link was posted earlier literally every person who responded said either “f*ck off” or made a joke about how silly the mere suggestion is.

Who? A quick glance and I can’t see one person who is accepting it?

More than entitled to that. I just don’t think he has been able to show his worth in midfield. To me, he’s as close to a Gilbey replacement that we have. He has the athleticism and the ability to carry the ball, not to the same standard, but he can do it. He’s just proved to be very useful as an outside centre back.

For me, I will be interested to see the style of play and principles of play that Jackson will try to implement in the summer. Especially as we will have a core of players and the season starting a little earlier, we need to do our business early and I would hope we would see what his style actually is. And with that, where Clare fits in and the position he plays.

    That’s me!
I still believe that Bows would have done a better job with a transfer window than what we had in the summer, and think he was totally correct in all the players he called out for not being good enough while playing for him. Maddison and Williams are two that spring to mind.
I will never believe all the crap being said about him like never discussing tactics, and I thought Chucks wanted to put his lights out and yet went with him! What was that all about? Sounds crap to me.
I understood his tactics and his substitutions made sense.
For me it was the expectations that were wrong, not the individual.

I also believe that if JJ or Euell had taken over after he left we would have had a better summer window. I fully expect JJ to get more right than wrong this summer because I believe he shares the same expectations from players.

5 days left in the window. Let’s hope we find new clubs for dead wood / surplus players like Souare, Gunter, Kirk & Watson so we can bring in the much needed new blood.

    Squad desperately needs a boost.

Hate to say this, but I think the squad has already had its transfer boost….. 45 minute a game Chuks Aneke
  • I see Steve Cooper forest manager last night said Taylor wasn't in squad due to an imminent loan move. Where do we reckon he Is going then?

I do agree Bowyer would have had a better transfer window though. The fact is he is a name that attracts players at this level, especially getting young talented midfielders.

So many holes in the team, but for starters we need a centre half who can play out from the back and a Kinsella/Holland captain type midfielder. We've lacked leadership all season.

What like Watson, Levitt and M Smith mrk2 last season?

The manager wouldn't have had much bearing on the recruitment as they didn't do any of it.
