    He's sounding exactly like RD now, thinking he can run the club with people who have no idea and he can run it at break even and head to the premier League. No chance.
    But..if there aren’t people like TS who
    think they can buck the trend and try until the cost gets too high who else is going to step in?

    This is the bit that worries me.  I think we’ll finish mid table at best this season, maybe 10th at a push.  We finished 7th last season and if we were only a few players off last season, we’re quite far off that this season.  

    A few more players and we’ll probably have a moderately better season than this one and maybe finish just outside the play offs

    This is where I am starting to fear for the grand plan, because unless we get 6/7 quality players in over the summer, we’ll be at home to Shrewsbury again in the 23/24 season.  TS is talking up breaking even and growing revenue.  That won’t be the case if we’re still in League One in 2 years

    Let’s see come the summer recruitment.  I’m not confident at the moment 
    Surely you realised that all our under 23s will be world beaters, so we will not have to buy anyone and can sell one or two for profit  :)

    The only clubs that break even or get close to breaking even in The Championship are very soon relegated.

    Thinks he can run the club with people who have no idea and additionally he can run it at break even.
    He will also get us to The Premier League breaking even.
    No chance, not when everyone else is spending money like confetti.
    What he said to me in December 2020. It’s nuts.

    That's the first rule in business. If you sell assets at a loss, you're destined to fail
    Of course, and the hard part is getting recruitment right. It's been our biggest issue in the last few years, with the right signings we wouldn't be 16th in L1.

    Increased advertising and sponsorship linked to more "eyeballs" in the stadium is part of it as he said in the interview.

    I can't see how that fills the £8m gap on it's own but it does fit in with other rumours about expenditure to increase advertising revenue.
    If we only get a few players in there will be reduced attendances next season.
    As it stands I can't see more than 6/7K S/T holders next season if what he says happens.
    Even if there are larger freebie attendances next season I doubt increased advertising and sponsorship would amount to £500K and probably far less.

    Since turn of the year we are 22nd in the form table. That has included another full transfer window and subsequent games where we have lost 5 in a row. Something in the business model, isn't as simple as our owner thinks (or is willing to state).

    Yep. That's the thing there's a difference between trying hard to want make things work, which I do think he has done up to a point and doing a good job. Working hard, doesn't mean that you're working effectively.

      The problem I have with it all is that he doesn't have anyone in place to tell him where he may or may not be going wrong.

    And from what I've just heard he definitely needs that type of person in his sphere.

    Also, he's not really saying anything different from what he was saying 18 months ago. It really doesn't sound very progressive to me.
    Just a bloke who's stumbled his way into the football scene who's going to have a lot of fun and lose a lot of money along the way.
    Without listening to it yet but going by comments on here it seems he admits he knows fuck all about football but junior does so they're going to try & fudge their way through. Crying out for a CEO.

    Just a bloke who saved us. Success isn't a right and can't even be bought. Even those that cheat dont achieve it.

    I'm just grateful we still have a club. Anything more is a bonus

    The Under 23s ? That's what they were all saying last summer, pathway to the first team. That worked out well didn't it. If this is the planning in action JJ may as well jump ship now.

    It is a big difference, and it has bought him time. But that won't last forever and nor will the money. This could potentially end extremely badly, regardless of his good intentions.

    Southampton spent big and had a good batch come through the academy in one go.

    he didn’t say anything he hasn’t said before since he’s been here, none of it was a shock, and I think his template of success looks more Brentford/Brighton/Norwich then other clubs who had flashed the cash and burned
