    New song “Poster Child” got posted on YouTube and quickly removed… of course someone quickly downloaded it and put it on Reddit.

    Will probably be back up on YouTube by the weekend and someone pressed the go live button too early by accident.

    It’s out now on streaming services, think it was just some one in Australia doing the rest of the world a sneak peak :) 

    pretty nice song I must say. Feels much more of a return to form than the Klinghoffer years.

    It’s ok - hopefully just mid-album filler. Lyrics are atrocious, but that’s almost part of the charm these days!

    The song is ok but it carries a rather forgettable, typical theme about it.

    They usually mostly make stand out atmospheric really memorable records, but maybe now their style of the past 30 years, is getting a little repetitive.

    I think in a couple of years...perhaps the band should just call it a day. They've done well enough, but after another album or two, they may not have too much left to give.

    Personally I really like it. Bit of a grower, but the guitar is pretty iconic sounding. What I love about all their songs with frusciante is it really *sounds* like it’s a jam they’ve added lyrics to and then organised it a bit (that’s literally how they write their songs). I’m absolutely here for it. Their work with klinghoffer always felt a bit over engineered. Flea and john’s chemistry is second to none.

     Kiedis has always been an average singer and not amazing lyricist. Might be a song about his dad in the new album as he passed away recently with dementia. A lot of their early songs is about their complex relationship when he was a teenager. And heroin, and Hillel dying… and of course their love for California so… maybe.

    Had a proper chance to listen a few times now.

    Personal favourite, the second track Here Ever After which has perhaps a sprinkling of that Peppers energy of 20 years ago, without quite reaching the same heights of a By The Way or Can’t Stop…
     
    The other one l am really enjoying (perhaps more so… I go back and forth) is the second to last track The Heavy Wing which has Frusciante’s fingerprints all over it.

    Look forward to the album release now and the summer.

    Very relieved I got myself a ticket to go and see them

    It’s ok - but bloated. 17 tracks could probably be 11 or 12 or really good songs - but that’s pretty much my feeling for the last few albums. Some of the songs are probably the best since by the way (20 years ago!), you just have to wade through some mediocrity to get there at some points.

    Black Summer ended up growing on me and I really like it now. Agree with @Callumcafc that Here Ever After is probably the best track, Not the One is a decent slow song (and has slightly better lyrics than we’ve become accustomed to!).

    Just had a look on Twickets out of interest. Only 2 tickets showing & saying they are Platinum Seats. £336.80. Each!

    Some of their worst songs reference areas outside of California, change my mind.

    Set an alert up on Twickets to be notified of when they are posted. Pretty much guarantee you will get some for face value or less nearer the time.

    as for the 14 year old, it was deeply disturbing - but he was messed up on drugs at the time, and was himself raped when he was 11 by his dads girlfriend. The guy has had a messed up life.
