Best of luck to you - my approach sounds very similar. I don't know how Peanuts sleeps, carrying as he is the weight of all our hopes and dreams...

    Cockle popcorn.

You might need practice getting that right. Anyway, not far from me is an excellent restaurant called Shellfish Cow. Food theme is in the name. Last week a nibble on the blackboard was popple cockporn, which turned out to be individual cockles deep fried in batter with a sliver of cornichon in each one. Served with aioli. Heavenly!
And the main courses were even better.

  • My son's new turntable and love of the 70s rock music genre.

The loft is becoming less cluttered as my old record collection finds a new lease of life.  Indeed, even my old record cabinet has gone.

Here's hoping he also takes up an interest in his old uni papers, ancient toys and football programs.

Only just really 'delved' into this thread, that would be an absolute brilliant bit of news.

After months of being on hold, due to the electronic components shortage (furloughed workers more like), I actually collect my new car Tuesday, which has turned into the upgraded version for the same money.

Meeting a parent of a special needs youngster in school reception, hearing first hand her story of her sons improving skill set since sitting with the dog.
Something I was aware of but its that bit special when the parents bring it to your attention.

Last day at work, before departing Monday evening for a very delayed cruise (21/2 years) from Venice to Barcelona. First of 4 this year, 3 delayed because of Covid.

Elon Musk existing. What a guy.

Just offered to buy Twitter for 40-odd billion. Says if they say no, he'll sell all of his shares.

Testing negative on our PCR test (fit to fly) so we can now have our first holiday in well over 21/2 years.

Which is it? 21 or 22 years?

I thought he meant 10.5 years and was just being obtuse/annoying

Obviously showing my age by going all pre decimal, fractions was all the rage when I was dragged up in the gutter.

Watching my son's band at a festival and doing some train spotting at the same time:

Though in all honestly, the turn out wasn't everything they'd hoped for:

Our daughter’s at her friends all day and managed to persuade my wife to join me in a roof down drive out in my classic to Otford. Stopped, had tea and watched a spitfire fly past a couple of times then had a leisurely drive home in the sun. Did a bit of gardening when I got home and am just about to crack open a beer.

Painting a shabby old wooden bench and it turning out looking like new - transformed for a tenner in less than an hour. I'm absurdly pleased with it.

The sun is out again, so I don't need to replace my car's bald tyres for another 5 months.

Wondering idly what to have for breakfast on this sunny Sunday morning then finding a cream and jam doughnut that I'd forgotten about in the fridge, still in date.

My daughter getting a first in English literature & creative writing. I’m so pleased for her, she originally started at Royal Holloway, packed it in, to say I was angry at the time was an understatement. She said it wasn’t for her, she then went to Greenwich Uni to start again.  Told her she’ll have to buy me an omega watch when she sells her first book.
