Kessié and Christensen signing for Barca, both on free transfers, both very good players, reckon Barca will be a bit of a force to be reckoned with next season0

City have spent the money straight away on Kalvin Phillips for the same fee.
Bazunu, Edozie, Porro, Gyarbi, Itakura, Egan-Riley, Lavia all gone for a total that covers the Haaland fee and there is barely a senior appearance between the lot of them. If they sell Sterling as well then they're well in profit this summer.
But Tebas will cry and tell everyone City are ruining football because they signed Haaland and Barca/Real couldn't.
Contrast that with Man United who've spent a billion in the last decade going backwards or Everton who've spent well over 500m to almost be relegated.0 -
Not concerned about Derby being a promotion rival this season. The easy part is signing 20+ players in a short period of time. Hard part is actually getting them to function as a team. Last two Summer windows have been panic buying and never did us any good. Would be disappointed if we finished below Derby.5

£10m is an absolute bargain for him given the money that gets thrown around in the premier League these days.0 -

Not saying they’ll do well or poorly, but lots of excitement on their signings because many have played Championship football recently.
Questions of either why are they dropping to League One and how much are Derby offering them?
Hourihane is a great signing though, the Bannan type level of quality in this league.

In the Bowyer promotion team, many of our best players were signed by us in the Championship (Bauer, Sarr) or had played at that level previously (Pearce, Pratley). The likes of Nicky Bailey and Deon Burton for us under Parky.1 -

I've seen £6m plus add-ons mentioned elsewhere, so maybe the add-ons potentially add.up to £4m if he does well.0 -
Derby have signed Conor Hourihane, James Chester and David McGoldrick today... they aren't messing around.1

Hourihane, who most people think is an excellent player is on a 2 year deal, whereas the other 2 are only on 1 year deals, so not a massive long term risk0

or maybe as all the players they have signed so far are free agents they can only get over the hill out of contract players.0
-
Hourihane and Chester are decent signings. McGoldric has only had a couple of profilic seasons in his career. Could still see him hitting 10 goals but be surprised if it's more than that. Wouldn't have wanted him here to be honest.0

Sterling off to Chelsea, another striker we've missed out on1
