Once again I hope that losing here, is giving Ben Garner more information to work on during training ahead of the new season, than any 6-1 win will do.

Hampton 2-0 up at the drinks break. We look ok but haven't created much in the way of real chances.

The commentator is a cross between Jeff Stelling and Sid Waddell with none of the combined intellect. He continues to crack me up - the pauses while his brain catches up with his mouth are very amusing.

Great chance for Lavelle there has to hit the target. U’s should be out of sight with the two chances we gave them from tippy tappy at the back. Need to mix it up a bit more especially Elleware at the back who is comfortable on the ball but first thought tonight seems to be where’s my keeper 😤.

the attacking play is crap and guess what so is our playing out  from the back

    bloody hell Gilbs scores
Literally playing with an 11 where a good chunk of the players wont even be in our match day squad, and have been complimented from the opposition commentary about how good with have looked on the ball.

Yeah we didn’t really create anything in the final third, but did you expect to with Leaburn up
top on his own, and Josh Davison, ponytail, playing in some weird sort of withdrawn right attacking winger position.

Does show where we need to bring in more depth, but it really has not been as awful as you seem to be making out.

I'd certainly have him above Davison in the current pecking order

    Oh god the song
  • Commentator needs to be binned off. Absolutely dreadful. Nothing to get excited about 1st half. Hopefully the best is yet to come.

Pre season friendly no.3, with few first 11 starters, let’s put perspective on it.

Those commentators were awful. Why do we have to be subjected to them?

Albie looked very good that half. Lovely touch from Leaburn for the goal. Should have scored at least one of those headers from set pieces. We are still a disaster waiting to happen at the back with some of our play. I hope wollacot is actually good.

Jees, conclusions from pre season games again! Be careful!

Claydon, Barker, Davison looked ready last year if judging from such games.

Anyone listening to the half time song, jokingly told me wife "oh look TS is playing his own music again" but it actually is!

He really doesn’t mind a hackneyed old cliche, musically as well as lyrically!

Anybody notice any difference in how we are playing from how we played last season?

    Thought Albie was awful.

Oh absolutely - I'd also rather they make mistakes now that can be fixed before the league starts.

Rather than once the season has begun, and we're in that run of Sat | Tues games where its harder to work on things, because the players are having to focus on rest and recovery

Hapless playing out from the back is going to cost us goals this season unless we can do it more intelligently and accurately.

Goalkeeper playing out to CBs rather than going long and a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 formation the obvious changes.

Clayden gets into some good areas but his crossing is hit and hope. Needs to practice after training so he can put it on a sixpence if he wants to stake a claim as left back cover let alone dislodge Sessingnon. And as for Albie, ain’t seen nothing different yet if he’s to be a regular in the team.

We will win this 5 or 6 2, depends when we make the subs. And when they do.

Judging the back four that started tonight... I'd be surprised if more than Lavelle started at Accrington

Some decent passages of play in that half but lacked quality, composure and bodies in the final third.

Why not, he has to see what the alternatives are made of.
(I hope I never have to see them again  ;) )

What formation did we play that half?

Felt a little similar to the Killy game but we had 3 at the back that time. I guess it was 4-2-3-1, but DJ didn’t really seem to play wide and was often quiet deep.
