Stockley is a good striker for a team that puts tonnes of crosses in and needs a guy to hold up long balls from the back.
He doesn't fit into a system where the ball is on the floor, we will be held back with him leading the line this season with this style of football.
Stockton is still available....5 -
This is the first pre-season game i've seen...have to say I've been very pleasantly surprised. CBT will put the fear of god into any RB coming up against him. I like the look of SS and Fraser, O'Connell and McGrandles look really useful.
Leaburn is having a good game...weak link so far has been Stockley, the new keeper seems to be assured and using his area well, and Inniss is looking as though he is getting back to fitness again, Clare has picked up where he left off last season and looks assured in the RB position. Finally Morgan! What has happened to him since last season...he looks a different player!
So with this line-up today, where do Payne, Kirk, JFC, DJ and Gilbey fit in? I think maybe we move on Gilbey and a.n other (I would keep Kirk and JFC) perhaps a.n other could be DJ?
Still need a striker in my opinion, lets hope that is the position that the player Garner has been chasing plays in.
Overall quite impressed so far.2 -

Also; sorry to say, I don't rate Leaburn, esp not in this system. He is not a winger or even a wide forward. All the play is coming down our left because CBT can run at players. Leaburn looks like what he is.....a raw youngster out of his depth. He might have pace but from what I've seen he cant dribble or cross.
And btw. Stockley scored 13 in the league.7 -
Payne coming on for McGrandles... No surprise5

McGrandles very high energy. Clare excellent at RB. CBT too good for their right back. Wollacott assured.Excellent first half, all looking composed on the ball. Grandson loving it. He claps when the crowd claps. Didn’t think he’d watch the game, but he did for at least 30 mins. ‘Bout the same as me.22

Payne is diddy!1

Regarding stockley, I'm just saying what I see. He's had 3 terrible touches that he should of converted into shooting opportunities. He looks a cut below the rest of the team playing today. Yes he's had some ok play, but nothing any CF should be doing. His mistakes have shone more though.
I'd love it if he can step up and bag 20 plus this season, I'm doubtful.5 -
Morgan with a shit Free Kick but then puts in a good tackle

Payne is a proper short arse isn't he?1

Jack Payne’s first action in a Charlton shirt was to play a wonder ball.
Suddenly we’ve gone from looking like having the worst midfield in the league to an incredibly competitive one.11 -

Swansea have us on the back foot early in the second half, they have def stepped it up a notch, but we are very much in this game, could go either way for the next goal..2

Lost commentary, seems someone has pushed the wrong switch and turned up crowd noise instead..

Well worked corner... Disappointing to see their scorer so easily left unmarked0

1-1 from corner, not sure about bad defending, more a complete lack of it.1

What's happened to the sound?0

Just invested £25 at 22/1 for the title with William Hill. Easily impressed me.15

if you are going to have a 6ft 5in and a 6ft 4 forward in the box then why did SS not cross the ball in the air ?
there was two defenders up against Jayden and Miles. why ?1 -
Hmm thought Wollacott carried the ball out of the area then0
-
Good use of his area by Wolacott, and comes to gather a through ball on the edge of the box, literally..0
-
Sess looks a RB playing LB.
We are looking a bit more Charlton of last season this half. But keep plugging away.2 -
Great cross ball from Morgan, unable to get under control by CBT, but Morgan is having a real influence on our play so far2
