Sandgaard owns nothing at the club apart from the name. Hopefully someone like @Airman Brown can dissuade me of this view, but unless there is a rich person like Barclay around, the only way Sandgaard gets rid is to sell it on to chancers like Bassini and Southall.
That's my nightmare scenario. It could get a lot, lot worse.
we are one of the most attractive clubs to buy in England. What have you been drinking this afternoon?
Potential huge investment. Our fanbase is certainly big enough. We are an attractive club to buy.
No owner has the bollocks, courage or dedication to give it the required effort.
Its now just someone shooting himself in the foot by only attempting to break even.
Didn't do his homework. A few years ago he seemed confident and it appeared that he at least had a brain.Charlton aren’t in the same league when you compare your fan base with those mentioned above, and plenty others as well. Even in your PL days your crowds had to be bolstered by shipping bus loads of plastics in from the Home Counties.Seriously, the delusion that some of you have (not all, granted) that charlton are somehow a big club or a sleeping giant, it’s not how the rest of the footballing world view you.And no, we’re not either. But we don’t claim to be!
You're digging out our support?
How many season tickets did you expect us to sell this season after the last few seasons weve had?
How many fans did we have up at Bolton Saturday?
Over the previous years what sort of numbers have we taken to Bolton?
After the last half a dozen seasons weve had and still 8000 season tickets sold as well as taking over 600 to Bolton you're saying our support is mediocre.
I'm not having it1 -
Tuned in for the Cambridge game early and that other chap was sat there with an iPad talking through the show into a coms in his ear. Just him sat at the desk, called the mrs in to say “I don’t think they realise it’s on”
Last season they did the same with Minto and Holland, was having a chat and mentioned TS. Minto then got a call to say you’re on air.0 -
Cafc43v3r said:Not sure if it's a sign of incompetence or something more worrying but the video for the Gillingham game was "free" for the first 25 minutes, or so, is someone that doesn't know what they are doing in charge so the blocked countries element just isn't working?
Anyway I'll just wait for the usual suspect to turn up and tell us how Gallen is just deadwood holding Martin’s vision back and that its refreshing how Thomas is standing up to the EFL.
The work permit is a new one but we have multiple sources telling us Thomas' wife is working for the club. The more I think about removing the block, it doesn't make sense. My son did access a game I bought from Northern Ireland put he used my account as I also watched it from 'abroad'. He didn't have a VPN but that could be a gremlin too. You can't make money out of doing this without promoting it surely.
I'm not saying it is true or false, but it wouldn't be too difficult to create such a rumour based on things we already know and adding to them. But not sure why anybody would want to do that.3 -
It's a strange one. Gallen comes across well and has had some success with us and seems to be well regarded in the game. He has had to deal with some grade A fuckwits messing in places they should not mess in, who I would expect have, moved goalposts, delayed and pulled the rug from under him on more than one occasion at the last minute. Would I be sorry to see him go?0

That doesn’t make much sense to me 🤔🤷♀️But then, what do I know 🤷♀️I’d hope SG is clued up enough to transfer his contact list to a personal phone, if he is going.2 -

I am undecided about Gallen and how good he is but when his only real successful (in monetary terms) acquisition /trading is Macaulay Bonne after, what, 4-5 years at the club I doubt he will have a huge list of employers prepared to pay him well.
On the other hand, him leaving would leave TS and MS in charge of recruitment and you can forget anything happening in January.
Or maybe he's unhappy with the manner in which staff are being "made redundant" and is looking to jump before he's pushed?
I'm pretty sure that Steve would be regarded as a credit to our club but if he's working under limitations - if his job description has been changed for instance-then he has to think of his future & with his credentials, should find a post where he's appreciated without too much of a problem (IMO)
Pure speculation on my part, of course, but lifeboats are fast disappearing on the good ship CAFC it would seem.....0 - Sponsored links:

Is TS still able to discern the difference between ‘better’ and ‘worse’ ?0
-
I swear to God, if somebody had asked me back in 2006 after "we sent the Palace down", what future I wished for them, I honestly don't know if I could, in all my wildest immature sadistic fantasies, have come up with a more horrendous shitshow than we've had at Charlton (barring a couple of outlier seasons).
I am hoping those latest tweets are some attention seeking loser trying to make mischief, but I just can't tell anymore.

That he walks around with a large briefcase that actually only contains a single sheet of A4 paper that has the QPR phone number on it in size 72 comic sans.1 -
There's a dark angle being pursued here.

I've got no idea whether Gallen is actively seeking another job. I do know he was offered a job around March time, which he turned down. It's quite possible the summer means he's had enough.1

Understand Gallen is presently on holiday.1

And every time I'm having one of these flash backs from hell, Richard Murray's Weasley face always pops up in my mind.3 -

Swear there was a game against Watford that we drew as well where we should have had a penalty but got given a free kick on the edge of the box.
That Fulham game haunts me though. They got given a throw in I remember and scored seconds later. Should have been our throw.
The sliding doors moment was definitely the appointment of Dowie and giving him riches Curbs could only dream of to waste on absolute shit. Traore getting sent off for 2 yellows in his first game against West ham after 30mins or something was a portent of doom.
Pardew was also a disaster with his striker signing spree. I honestly believe we could have got promoted straight back up if we'd just kept Lisbie in the championship.
Well that's me completely and utterly depressed now.5 -

Of course this means nothing if you are not an appealing option and pricing and winning football are probably key factors. Again you will know more than me as you have been there and bought the T-shirt. I do remember that when we had our recent play off adventure, quite a lot of fans of other clubs attended. I know of an Arsenal fan who really enjoyed it all and it could have been something to capitalise on.
Those people do exist, but I'm not sure there are that many and many will have been converted already. If they wanted to move to the area now may be priced out, and the majority of new housing that's been built close by isn't family housing - so there won't be reams of people coming in thinking "what shall we do with the kids this Saturday? Let's give the football a go", even if they can afford the £15 we're now charging 11/12-year-olds.1
