Why is there so much added on time in this WC? Are they taking water breaks?

Isn’t the final game also midnight local time? Don’t need to cater for local fans, as they don’t exist.
Football’s very popular in the Middle East?

The final match of the day in this phase of the tournament kicks off at 10pm local time, which isn’t too different to fairly regular kick off times in continental Europe.

Argentina have been off side more in this game than the whole of the last world cup.  Only need 5 more in the second half to beat the record.

Games are 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 10pm local time each day.

Qatar is 3 hours ahead of the UK.

New FIFA guidelines. Aiming to maximise playing time and to combat time wasting.

Think the Saudis deserve some credit for the way they’ve played themselves. Good pressing and winning the ball high. Wonder if they can keep it going for 90 minutes though.

  • If we win our Group, isnt this Group a potential Quarter-Final opponent?

    Great goal for the Saudis

    I love this crazy sport
  • Could be strong contender for goal of the tournament that one!

Potentially, although not directly group winner vs group winner.

Runner up of this group if we win our group.

Winner of this group if we finish second in our group.

    Saka's first was better

    Worked it out
  • Hell of an atmosphere too, effectively it's a Saudi home match
