That's the difference between the big boys and the minnows.

Not that you would have known it from some of the results so far though.

surprised that Trossard didn't start for Belgium .. one of the really in form Prem players
Players being picked on reputations and past performance
Belgium have squandered their "golden generation" the same way England did - its basically been an action replay of us in the early 2000s.
  • Cracking finish to be fair.

    So harsh on Canada.
  • Who is Colina talking to?
  • Argentina led vs Saudi Arabia, Germany led vs. Japan. This isn't over yet.

1-0 has been a dangerous HT lead. Japan and the Saudis did Golfies in the second half, Wales came back to equalise.

Another Canadian Addick watching here (although getting ready to fly to London later today) - the boys are playing well but I think we are suspect defensively. Going to be entertaining and open games that’s for sure.

VAR though is a joke - have given up watching games involving this stupid system  for the last few years & not regretting it. First thought every time a goal is scored now is what minor infringement will they find to rule it out.
  • I like how the Canadian Manager has his side playing... Wonder if the FA would look at him when its time to replace Southgate

A mugging but a quality long ball and just to prove you don't have to have 20 passes to score a goal.

Canada are a revelation (to me at least) .. just, as said by many, lacking a finisher ... SO FAR

the more I see that last penalty shout for Canada the more it looks like one.
  • Hannibal Lecter coming on for Belgium. He'll eat them alive.

Canada started 2nd half on front foot again!
  • If Canada can just make one of these chances count, then it is game on. There's definitely comeback win to be had here. Belgium not at all convincing but Canada just lacking that bit of extra quality when it counts.

How have Canada not scored yet? 16 shots versus Belgium's four.

Canada by the way is about to embark on a huge immigration drive - with 1.5m new immigrants in the next 3 years!

We are only going to get stronger at football and cricket !!

    Not if Stockley goes
  • A Charlton short corner, and an attempted Charlton counter attack rolled into one there

Buchanan has played very well - can see him heading to a bigger stage than Bruges
  • Canada's finishing has been Charltonish. As shown by that last shot which would have cleared the roof of most stadiums.

As indeed have been their set pieces...
