Started off the day at the Qatar vs Senegal game. Quite a strange atmosphere at first. More empty seats at this one than I’ve seen at other games.
One of the theories as to why there’s few empty seats at each game is because the locals bought a lot of them up at a cheap rate, but then just haven’t turned up.They definitely got more into it as Qatar grew into the game, but they never looked like getting anything from it.
Then I made the two hour journey north by public transport for the England game. I was travelling from the most southern stadium to the most northern stadium - but got there without issue.
The game was absolutely abysmal for the most part. Don’t think there’s much I can add that hasn’t already been said. Had great seats behind the goal….just a shame there was hardly any action!

The 0-0 was dull but my glass is half full on it.
We didn’t need to be at our absolute best during that fixture. Save that for the knockouts
