£3 a pint at Old Trafford for those not doing dry Jan.

Wow, that's unheard of. Cheap even if it was 20 years ago

I'm not going to bother trying to stream it as got things in the way.

If we somehow cause upset of the century,  I'd be a combination of happy and gutted I couldn't see it or be involved
  • Blimey, I can't remember what the atmosphere was like at a game 29 years ago!

Though to be fair I do remember the charter train we took  :)
  • I'm very regrettably not attending on Tuesday. 2 young kids who are gutted.

anyone got any idea about finding a stream or sorting out a firestick to work with a stream ?
At the moment can only see it on Sport 2 Israel but sure it will be on elsewhere.

    keep an eye on Liveonsat
It will also be shown on TV 3+ in Denmark apparently
Great. That could be handy. Wife and I are in Copenhagen from Tuesday to Friday next week. Hoping the hotel TV has TV 3+ which appears to be a pay per view channel.

Mostly made up of nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, argon, and carbon dioxide, just like now.

Going but not really looking forward to it. I just don't want us to be embarassed.
I don't care about the result (well not overly). The chance to sing too fast and out of time for 90 minutes with an away following of 9,000 fellow inmates is what I'm looking forward to the most.

Ha! l was going to pipe up that the rare occasion we take 3k away we seem to find it impossible to sing in unison (or even the same song at the same time), so 9k odd should be a laugh!
40,000 at Wembley kept reasonable time - but then again I freely admit I was very, very drunk.

Had the drum at Wembley which helps a lot with that. Not sure if Old Trafford will allow it in as some grounds are a bit funny about it I think
At first United said no to drum but now I believe both drums will be there...

Since when have people had a problem with the drummer? As someone else said, they’ve done their miles and created atmosphere at Accrington Morecambe and Shrewsbury. Hope they can take it.
Well one of the drummers is an Arsenal fan.....

It wasn't an issue in 94. I remember at half time the whole away section singing this song bouncing up and down.
I'd love it if we could recreate it again on Tuesday.

Actually thought the atmosphere in '94 was crap considering the numbers. Think the “things can only get better” was so good because everyone knew the song.(other than a football song) There were a huge number sitting on their hands, a group of us turned around to urge people to sing up & they looked at us as if we were mad.

It's amazing how people's memories differ. I thought it was a great atmosphere and many United fan's said we were the best away fans the'yd seen in a few seasons.
In fairness there were 10k of us in what was (i think) about a 45k crowd in those days. Old Trafford was much smaller then than it is now.

But if i remember rightly the atmosphere was good up to and especially including half time, but with 10 men they came out and scored practically from the restart and we were never in it after that, so the atmosphere from us died off.

Bloody hell that's a long time ago, mid 60s ?
    I remember from mid 70's.
Me too. The OB started to wade in every time it was sung, so I guess that's why it died out.

55k capacity then, rose to 68k in '98.

One of our regular group is an arsenal fan but has been doing matches with us for 10 years it’s cheaper and goes with mates instead of 80 quid a ticket and no one to go with.

I think there was a bit of tension whilst it was 0-0 in 94. We got all excited at half time after the sending off and got shut up by Hughes soon after. What I recall most, having travelled on a coach was there were as many Man Utd fans travelling up on coaches as Charlton fans.

Attendance in 94 was 44,347 and i'm sure it was sold out so can't have been 55k.

Just went on the OS to check and it would allow me to buy more adult/£28 tickets so, no, the extra 2000 haven't sold yet for anyone still wanting to go.

Would rather we didn't bring a drum, helps with at atmosphere when you bring 1k to Stevenage but don't need it when there's 9k of you at OT
You don't need it full stop.
It prevents singing & if you want to sing you're pretty much limited to the drummer's choice.
Yeh i agree to be honest, too much of that 'CAFC wooo wooo wooo woo' shite.

Have to agree. An event like this should be all about passion, some of the older more nostalgic (and a lot of the time more impressive) songs starting organically with such numbers of fans.

With the drum there these are more likely to get interrupted with "BANG BANG - RED ARMY" or "C A F C...." etc or some of the more banal Palace/Euro style chants.

Completely at the mercy of the drum. Moan moan moan I need a coffee.

Valley Floyd Road is I believe in 3/4 (waltz, boom pah pah,) time, but the drummer has never sussed this. If they did they could possibly stop it being sung so fast.

Drummer isn't used for Valley Floyd Road.
