And 2 good finishes by our wide men....after 2 very good through balls. It’s like that time you mentioned how we were outplayed in a game, because the 2 minute highlights you watched only showed the oppositions attacks.‘We’ve got to do miles better on their goal. We got the press wrong. They got through us too easily and we don’t stop the cross. He strolls in at the back-post with two players near him and it’s an easy volley into the corner.’
Do you think Holden is nitpicking with his comments here?10 -

Delighted that we won. I never really expect to these days, which only makes it more enjoyable when it happens. It would be nice if we could make a habit of it. I did think Kilkenny might be the pick of our acquisitions as he was known to Holden. Sounds like he made a positive impact on the game.6 -
I think that is a game we would have drawn or lost before Holden. 2nd half performance was good as game became bitty, I think due to us, which wasn't what Exter needed and indeed we could have got the third with that CBT chance. Good debut from Kilkenny. I think he will get better as he settles into the side. We have a very strong midfield with Fraser, Kilkenny and Dobbo.2

Great 3 points and not too bad a performance.
When we get into rhythm, going forward we look very good and almost always expect us to score, at the back we still look a bit shakey at times but managed it well today.
Two excellent goals scored.
Second half was mainly Exeter's but we saw it out, although some playing out and around the back almost saw us slip up a few times.
It's been said but Kilkenny impressed. Sean Clare the only weak link out there today.1 -

Great block by Penney late in the first half2

So ooooold fell asleep for first 15 mins so missed the Rak-Sakyi goal ‘live’ , what a player , did some of our fans really not want him in the team , proper player as is Kilkenny .
Solid performance all round if a little bit shakey but that’s gonna happen with a weak ish defence .
Buzzing for the fans who made it down there .
gonna pick my son and space cadet mates up from station in a bit and continue brainwashing them .14 -
Smithy said:Great day out. We were so comfortable at 2-0 but some really poor defending for 2-1 made it a bit nervy for the remainder of the game. No idea if it actually was because the crossbar was blocking half of it, but that save from Maynard Brewer in added time looked absolutely unreal. Kilkenny looked tidy as well, probably my man of the match.
One more victory and Holden has matched the number that Garner managed to get.0 -
Chant of the match aimed at the bald as a coot lino who gave them a corner when it most definitely wasn't, and later gave an offside against Bonne.
"He's coming for you
He's coming for you
Harry Potter
He's coming for you"
He liked that, something to tell the kids about, that he was serenaded to by the Valley faithful.14 -
Just back personally I enjoyed the game it went a bit flat second half but it's a good win another 3poinst

I did happen though to be on the same carriage as Mr Holden though.
When he departed at Reading I did make a passing comment saying at least the your next train will be a bit quieter.
I'm all for the kids having photos with the boss, but there was middle aged blokes one with the same initials as me having photos with him.4 -
Good effort today all over the pitch. The game wasn't great overall.
Kilkenny was workman-like, made himself available. Dobson tenacious as usual. I thought Raj Sakyi faded- not unusual for him but again couldn't fault him for effort. Likewise Fraser tried hard and too often the ball didn't run or the ref interrupted any flow we were trying to build. Bonne similar in terms of inputs for outputs. All good team players.
Am slightly uncomfortable with Clare getting singled out for criticism. He gets through a lot of work, tracks up and down, gets a foot in (and multiple blocks) and gets us up the pitch when needed. Yes there's the odd mistake but that's the same for most (except maybe Ness and AMB today who were exceptional, imo).

Good turn and excellent cross for the Exeter goal but Rak-Sakyi should have been first to that ball and put it out for the corner.
Instead the Exeter bloke attacked the ball from behind the hesitating Rak-Sakyi and scored with a very determined finish.
IMO Rak-Sakyi was guilty of falling asleep defensively instead of clearing his lines.
I'm not scapegoating him, because he put in a very decent hardworking performance today and scored a wonderfully taken goal -
but he did switch off and it cost us a goal.
I should imagine Dean Holden will have a word.

There are times when you just have to give due credit to an opposition player.
It was an excellent piece of play.

Bit miffed that none of the highlights so far have shown the saves from AMB near the end that people were raving about. Hopefully the club twitter feed will put out a more extended version tomorrow.

Dobson (even though I love him) got beaten twice.
Penney could and should have got tighter to Dobson and their winger, both of them should have prevented the cross.
Rak-Sakyi let his man get in front of him to score the goal.2 -
Far fewer posts after this game than the Bolton one.10

The game itself seemed quite flat. The atmosphere on the away terrace was fairly muted too, it had the feel of an end of season game between two sides going nowhere...0
